When I go to Jamaica, can I bring rum back 2 the USA?

Is it gonna be hard to get it back to the US if I cant, Or can I hid it under some clothes in my suitcase? What is the LEGAL drinking age in Jamaica?

I don't know the legal drinking age in Jamaica, as I am over 21 and it wasn't an issue for me.

Yes, we brought back one liter of rum with us in March. We just had to declare it in customs upon our return to the states.

Don't bother trying to hide it - security does have x-ray machines that will catch it. You don't want your luggage rummaged through unnecessarily.

Have fun!

yes, you can bring back 2 litres of liquor. Buy it at the airport, duty free shops so that you can carry them on the plane. do not pack into your checked luggage, they might break.

U can bring back Rum. There are these gift shops (Duty free shops) in the airport that allows you to buy Liquors and rums so you dont have to hide it. The legal drinking age is 18.

MarshaMarsha
You're legally allowed to bring back some liquor with you from Jamaica, but you should definitely pack it in your checked luggage (not carry-on) or wait till you get to the airport to buy it.

And by the way, marijuana use is illegal here (in Jamaica).

sweet_jemise

you can definately bring back rum from jamaica to the u.s. i'm not 100% sure of the legal drinking age but i think it's 18yrs. i'll check that out for you and let you know to be safe though.

glennahailey
Buy your rum at the airport. It's duty free and they will package it up for your flight home. It's also cost less at the airport than in town.

They will box it up and tape it for you.

Yes, the amounts probably have changed, I haven't been in 2 years, but in the airport the Rum is duty free and they will tell you how much you can bring back in.
