Well most of the resorts clain that they speak English but I didn't find this too be entirely true. Especially in the case of the restaurant and bar staff. In fact they seem to get upset if you don't order in Spanish or if you say something wrong. We all tried to order in Spanish. You should at least learn to ask for drinks, say please and thank you and how are you. It is not hard to learn and they seem more responsive to it. |

HI, no you don´t need to speak Spanish in the Dominican Rep., but it´s always better for you the learn to speak the
most spoken language (after Chinese)in the world; why?
if you speak their languages they will serve you better in the
Hotel in Punta Cana (especially in restaurant and bars) but
generally the staff speaks your language (not perfectly) you
will understand them. Have a nice holiday... |

No, You don't have to, because as Punta Cana is a tourist destination most of the population speak English |
