June to November is the Hurricane season so times out of that season are OK. I have been in June, July, and September but I think we were just lucky.

When were you due to fly out? Im going on the 17th September, maybe mine has been cancelled to...

Tropicales
Your trip has just been cancelled because there has been a lot of damages throughout parts of Cuba. Cayo Coco is not part of the mainland and is connected via a causeway to Ciego de Avila. If there has been a need for repairs at hotels or roadways that would make travelling through Cuba difficult, then that could be the reason. It was a strange year for hurricanes and Cuba was hit badly this year.

I have just tried contacting friends that work at one of the resorts' offices in Cayo Coco as I have been having problems getting through on the phone with my friends there. Hopefully they will be able to communicate soon enough. Although I'm not too sure as there may be problems getting in to work right away.
Cuba is beautiful this time of year and most do not experience such severe weather. This has been unfortunate this year.
Hopefully this will not deter you from visiting Cuba after things clear up.

But one thing is that Cubans are resourceful and are quick to remedy the situations. Most likely the issue has been with flooding as the resorts in Cayo Coco/Guillermo are of course right on the ocean...but again, this isn't something that happens frequently if at all in that area.

*edit: here is some information:

nobody was hurt and there wasn't that much damage to the hotels...but water and amenities would be affected.

In my opinion pretty well any time, this year just by the luck or the unluck of the draw it's been such an active hurricane season. On your other post I showed the site below.
