June 1st through Nov 1 is hurricance season so that could be a problem if you get unlucky. Early April is fantastic time to be there. Still cold other places but the water is almost always perfect to swim or dive in. Summer is very hot and the low season. Never travel in the off season -- only the tourists who don't know any better travel then.

i would go in the fall if you could. the summer is hurricane season and very hot, humid and sticky. we went in november and it was BEAUTIFUL!!!!! around 80 degrees everyday.

i went there when was thanksgiving time. had great time. friendly people were so nice,relaxing.first place i ever gambled too! that was alotta fun!
