When it says rain for jamaica , does it rain all day?

It could, and it don't have too.

Give you an example. When I checked a weather system online, they said that there would be thunderstorms for Kingston, Jamaica. And then next day, it was raining all day!! The worse thing was I was planning a really cool outing with me and my friends somewhere. Another day, I checked, and it was the same report... HOWEVER, it didn't rain for more than 3hrs, during the peak of between 1pm and 4pm... this is due to the incoming ocean winds, with the 'transported moisture'. When the air is pushed inland, the mountainous terrains causes the air to be thrusted upwards, then it spreads out. This will be seen as a developing rain cloud or thunder cloud, and before you know it, it begins to rain. But certainly, it is not an everyday or all day thing.

Take it from the Jam-down yute who looks outside often... its not as bad as you think.

it's there way of being vague so that they are right no matter what...its like saying, there will be rain at some point durring the day, how long and how bad...we don't care...but there will be rain.

No it does not rain all day. When I was there middle of September last year it would rain every day, but maybe for 30 minutes. The sun would come out and it would be beautiful again! The cool thing is you can watch the storm clouds come in off of the ocean. It is amazing. The clouds against that crystal clear water is amazing.

Usually it rains for a short while then its dry again. The forecast is not always right. However this is the start of the Wet season. It is best to go end November through March winter, slightly cooler and dryer. Don't worry you will have a great time. At least you have avoided the Hurrican season.

No it doesn't mean rain all day. It's rain for a period which ranges between half an hour and maybe two, three hours on average. This can stop and start again however. And when it rains, it doesn't rain in all the parishes all at once. As a matter of fact,the entire island doesn't receive rain in any one day. The forecast should specify which parishes should have rain. If it said scattered, that's a trivial matter. Scattered showers means that there will be rain on different sections of the island throughout a particular period/ day etc. So for example, it might rain in Negril in the morning, Ocho Rios in the afternoon and so on. Still though, scattered showers are accompanied by some degree of sunshine. It's not solely rain. Don't be dismayed. It won't be rain for five whole days. That doesn't happen very often in Jamaica, unless it's the rainy or hurricane season. When that happens, you have something to worry about, and the forecast won't read " SCATTERED SHOWERS"

The weather man isnt always right and sometimes its raining at my house and 2 minutes away they have no rain. Besides if it rains there is always something to do this is Jamaica, fun in the sun and rain.

If your other half is with you then go do it in the rain, you wont ever forget that experience
