Go directly to the airlines websites this other sites charge for the transaction and by the time you pay the fee and so on you end up paying more, plus if you want to cancel they charge you as well.

Probably American Airlines is best. I know that they fly out of San Juan and to Chicago both, but I don't know if they have a direct flight.

You'll want to book as soon as you possibly can, because you'll get better deals that way. Check for internet specials. Call up the airlines and talk to a representative. They're able to see how full flights are and what the specials are. You'll get a better price if you're willing to travel at less popular times and/or on less popular days.

The fuller the flight, the higher the price, that's the basic principle but there are always exceptions.

Try Spirit Air, they have fewer flights, but great prices, also for this summer, the next best were from Continental. I go to booking buddy and it links you up with deal consolidating sites. Also, try bestfares to get an idea of the best times to fly.

There are a lot of websites good for this most of them have been mentioned here. Nobody has mention www.cheaptickets.com
here you can find real good prices as well here in www.yahoo.com you go to travel and well if u even customize your yahoo page you can arrange the places from which you want air fares and you get daily rates. As well www.jetblue.com this people offer real cheap prices for tickets you have to look if there is any flight from chicago. Well I wish you luck!
