Ok, The Carribean is a pretty big place consisting of many countries.

The Higher Crimed Countries of The Carribean are;

1. Haiti
2. Jamaica
(These are the country where you really have to be aware of your surroundings)

The Medium Crimed Countries are;

1. Barbados
2. Trinidad and Tobago
3. Dominican Republic
4. Puerto Rico

These Countries are where you should take moderate precautions (like going into your local inner-city community.)

Lower Crimed Countries

1. Cuba
2. Most of the smaller Islands (Martinique, Dominica, Saint Kitts/Nevis, Antigua, Aruba, Grenada)

Little Precaution needed, but still be aware.

Just be safe, be aware of your surroundins and you should have and excwellent experience.

BTW: Barbados probably would be your best choice.

What's the matter... can't you find a job in AmeriKa.? I live on Antigua for about 7 months each year and you wouldn't BELIEVE all the people I meet who think they are going to move to the Caribbean from AmeriKa or Canada or Europe... who think they can just show up in the Caribbean and get hired for a great job even though they HAVE NO SKILLS.. HAVE NO MONEY and HAVE NO LANGUAGE ABILITIES...

The Caribbean has a MASSIVE UNEMPLOYMENT PROBLEM... as has had for years... It's as high as 25 percent on some islands...

NOW.. what you have to ask yourself is... just HOW do you think you are going to get a job.. when you don't know the country or the culture or even SPEAK THE LANGUAGE... when there are locals that are out of work?

There are some skills that are needed in the Caribbean but, like most of you people who ask this question.. you didn't say WHAT YOU CAN DO.. and that really is sort of important when it comes to FINDING A JOB.

My advice to you is.. get a passport and hop a plane to ANY Caribbean island.. and then spend about a YEAR traveling around.. talking to locals... and LEARNING about the Caribbean before you move here.

Do you're research online - set you're heart on a few places and then go and visit each of them.

Explore asmuch as you can.
Stay in B+B's in local places not big fancy 5* hotels that are all inclusive.
See it for the country it is.............

Good luck

Do your research online and find an island that you like. Most islands have high unemployment and unless ur really skilled you wouldnt be able to get a job. Some of the better-off islands (Antigua and Barbados) for example would have lots of opportunity.

When you find and island u like contact some businesses or the government there and ask about jobs.

I am from the Caribbean and from Barbados to b exact. Here does not have a high crime rate,but like anywhere else you have to be careful. You can easily come here and find a place to live and somewhere to work...you have not stated your area of intrest in the work related feild but basically you can get work because they are mnay none nationals who have gotten jobs here in Barbados. All you have to do is that when you come you must apply for a workers permit before you work! =)
