South Florida.

We are free there. The best condition for vacations is freedom

They give me thumbs down as usual.
It looks like somebody doesn't like the truth. It seems that nobody cares that our country is ruled by a ruthless dictatorship

Note to Tess:
Thank you for your commentary, but I think that a little explanation is in order.

Regarding Cuba, EVERYTHING is political

Why ? Somebody may ask.
Because Cuba is ruled by a totalitarian system, where the government controls absolutely EVERYTHING.
Therefore, anything about Cuba IS political.

Besides, other people also make political commentaries here, despite being the travels section.

I remember somebody saying that Pierre Trudeau, prime minister of Canada was a very close friend of fidel.
I don't know about you, and I might be mistaken, of course, but I think that that kind of statement has a certain political flavor, I think

A little more thing, I don't have a beef with Cuba, I have it with those that rule Cuba. Not the same thing

You are lucky indeed that your country does not have a totalitarian dictatorship. We Cubans are not that lucky
Again, thank you

Tropical has given you good advice. You'll love Cuba.

And a note to "elgaby4a" the reason you keep getting thumbs down is that this is the TRAVEL section. This is not the POLITICS section. I understand you have a beef with Cuba, but this is not the section to come and air your political beefs.

The newest Melia hotel in Cuba. MELIA LAS DUNAS , CAYO SANTA MARIA. absolutely gorgeous.

Tropical has given you some great Information. My favorite resort is Sol Melia Rio Luna y Mares, Guardalavaca. You fly into Holguin and it's about an easy hour by bus to the resort. I enjoy it so much I'm booked for December 5th which wil be my fifth visit there. Many regulars I've met have been there 10 to 15 times. you can check the reviews on trip advisor and I've added some other links.

Honestly, it's ideal all throughout Cuba. It depends on what you're looking for on your vacation.

Cayo Coco, Santa Lucia, Varadero, Holguin (Guardalavaca), and Havana are ever so popular...and with good reason.

It is beautiful all throughout Cuba and it is the people that will make everything ideal.

Cayo Coco is simply gorgeous. It's a little secluded as in being about 45 minutes away from the main town of MorĂ³n...but it is easy to travel to. There is a lot to do, many sights to see, day (or 2-day trips) to Havana as well (40 min.flight into the city).
The beaches in Cayo Coco are breathtaking. The water is a crystal clear turquoise and the sand is soft, powdery white. I personally recommend Tryp Cayo Coco. Fabulous resort, amazing people that are there, excellent staff, great food, great entertainment, activities and fun all around.
A plus is that it's only a 15 minute drive from the airport.

Santa Lucia (Camaguey) is also beautiful and there it is easy to get into the local town with the locals within minutes.

Havana would be a highlight if you're able to go.

The rest of the places you can find in the links provided. All you need to do is basically close your eyes, point your finger and point ;-)

I say this because you won't be disappointed. It is advisable to book at a hotel that is no less than a 4*. What you can also do (to get a real Cuban experience as well), is book at a casa particular and stay right in the Cuban neighbourhoods.

Have fun touring Cuba online and enjoy your choice of stay!

My favourite spot was Trinidad which is a quaint old town. The beach is only about 8 kms away so it is a good place to go for a mix of activities.

Vinales is nice for a couple of days. Varadero has nice beaches but is very touristy. You could be anywhere. Not much of real Cuban atmosphere there.
