I had a great time in Barbados. It is not as centered on tourism as other islands, so there are many more chances to interact with the locals, who are very friendly.

There is a rain forest that is a protected park. You cn surf, or snorkel in coral waters. There are even green monkeys - I'm serious, they're green and they get about 3 or 4 feet tall. It has the most efficient public transportation system I have ever seen.

It usually rains for about 15 minutes each day in the afternoon. Even though it is almost at the Equator, the tempurature is only about 83 degrees.

I would say Barbados only because that's where I was born and where I live to this day and there is no place like home but if you like a lot of vegetation and nature and that type of thing there is no place like Dominica; the nature isle (not to be confused with the Dominican Republic). Dominica is THE place to relax, it's kinda like going back in time but it is such a beautiful island lots of rivers and waterfalls, its just beautiful. Antigua is lovely to with the most beautiful beaches imaginable but fairly touristy. Whereever you chose, just go and have fun and mix in with the locals, that's the best way to enjoy the islands cause we locals know the places best, don't just hang around the tourist areas. Oh and we have our Carnival in the summer here in Barbados its known as Kadooment (visit: http://www.kadooment.com ) there is lots of partying with the locals if you are into that. Well, you can always message me if you need more info. Have fun.

My absolute favorite is Barbados. Beautiful beaches, great snorkeling, great native food, good nightlife very nice people. I have been to Puerto Rico, Antigua, St Thomas, Bermuda, and Nassau in the Bahamas (which is pretty nice too), but for me Barbados is tops.

All These islands that have been already mentioned ARE touristy.
If you are looking for a fairly cheap island that still maintains and can boast of its beautiful virgin forest and not of 5 star hotels but rather small eco friendly villas nestled in the forests…..then Dominica IS the place(N.B not to be mistaken with the Spanish speaking island of Dominican republic).
Most likely If you have not heard of the place then it is definitely not touiristy.
But if you are looking for an island which is not over-crowded with tourists..has a diffeent culture to experince withought being expesive And you jsu want beautful serene Nature at its PUREST best then the island of Dominica will have to be the place(N.B not to b mistaken with the spanish speaking island of Dominican Republic which alos is an island in the Caribbean)
* It is THE island for the adventurous
*The main island where Pirates of the Caribbean 2&3 was filmed-visiting the many majestically beautful sites where the movies was filmed itself is an adventure.

*Branded as the whale whatching Capital of the Caribbean-exceelent for both whale and dolphin wathcing
*Rated 2nd all best Scuba and Snorkelling destination in the entire Atlantic By Readers Choice Magazine 2007
*Has 360 rivers-one for each day
*Most volcanic Mountainous island in the world(according to land ratio)
*rated as the 4th MOst peaceful place in the world
*We do not have white sand beches but rather Honey Coloured and Black sand.
We have the Largest Boiling lake of Its kind in the world and the only 1 in the western hemispher
*Uncountable waterfalls due to the numerous rivers.and rugged terrain.some waterfalls being discovered to this day
*A world Creole Music festival every year and also a pre lenten Carnival every yr also
*The most heavily virgin forested island in the caribbean
*The tallest mountain is 4747 ft-there is a trail to hike there where two of the worlds most endangered parrots which are endemic to Dominica live..The Amazona Imperialis and the Amazona Aurausiaca
*Wonderful Areail Tram- which rides deep into the forest.

There are many other things to do here such as Atv riding through the forest and Horse back riding River tubing etc but iI willl leave you to view the website
If you choose my island -i would jus like to say welcome in advance

We spent our honeymoon in St. Lucia and it was very quiet and beautiful. If we had the chance we would go back in a second.

Aruba.... I would splurge, though and go to Hawaii and skip the Carribean.... Just my opinion though.

Try Guadalupe, French West Indies; not touristy at all and pretty inexpensive; beautiful water with swaying palm trees...love it!

summer is scary in carribean in terms of weather so really do your research before you book. i believe aruba, bermuda and fiji are good though even in the summer but still make sure you research the weather and see recommendations. also hawaii is actually good in the summer.

So many choices!!! Here are just a few english speaking ones
Grenada is good especially since they have fixed up the hotels and alot of them have specials to encourage people to come back it is quiet and very laid back -the people are friendly ,
st Lucia is great, beaches , hotels and spas Club st Lucia has a great all inclusive package. If you like to explore there are the volcanoes island tours by sea and buy land -the hotels usually make the arrangements for you - there are many non touristy areas...
Barbados is lovely -just like st Lucia the whole package beaches, hotels and spas -it has a better night life than Grenada and st Lucia -more choices all around the island just one example is st Lawrence gap which has a variety of restaurants and clubs in a small area.Barbados is quaint but however is geared towards the tourist.
Dominica is not at all touristy and they is much exploring to do- nature tours , beaches etc ...They are some good deals with smaller hotels and guest houses.the people will do anything for you as long as you are polite and friendly to them.
Word of warning however the rainy season starts in June and ends in December-so check the weather reports the word is that the islands are in for a rough rainy and hurricane season.Good luck and hope you enjoy
