Oh boy, Here we go again.
Barbados is located in the Atlantic ocean NOT the Caribbean. However it's considered to be located in the Caribbean due to sharing the same slavery roots as the other islands.
So to be specific its not geologically located in the Caribbean but considered to be.

Geo that is new to me. I never knew we were not in the Caribbean. I thought all along we were but I did not do much geography. It is a good thing that that lady ask the question because it has enlightened me. Thanks Geo for informing me.
Nevertheless, Barbados is an island with the Atlantic Ocean on our east side. It is the most easterly of the Caribbean islands of about 166 sq miles that is why the majority of hurricanes pass us by. We are also located 13.10 degrees North and 53.32 degrees west. The population is about 267,000 people. Check out the link below to read more.
We do not belong to anyone so it is not in a specific state like Kentucky, California or one of those. It is an island completely surrounded by water. |
