Search TripAdvisor.com for resorts. Type in where you are going in the search area and you can find information on all D. R. resorts.

I would suggest you think about what it is that you want in a resort. For example, do you want relaxation or fun? Do you want a 5 or 6 star or will a 2 or 3 do? Do you want a nice beach? Do you want all inclusive? These are just an example of the questions you need to ask before choosing the "best place" to go. Decide what you want in a resort and then go to TripAdvisor.com and research from there. The biggest decision you have to make concerning such a trip is the resort so make it carefully. TripAdvisor.com will be a tremendous tool.

What a difficult question to answer without more info.

If you are a single guy I would recommend Sosua. The beautiful beach is lined with shops, restaurants and bars and the town is hopping all night with Discos and clubs.

If you are a young sports minded person I would recommend Cabarete which is full of people under 30 years old interested in Kite Surfing, Wind Surfing and long board surfing. After a hard day doing sports they party most of the night away on the Beach.

If you are interest in upscale villa tourism check out Cabrera which is known for fantastic villas renting for up to 15,ooo US dollars for one week.

There are Robert Trent Jones Golf Courses close to all of the above, casinos in or close by and plenty of nice restaurants.

There are even more places to discover such as Samana, Las Galares and Las Terenes which are popular for whale watching and beaches.

Thats just the north coast. There are 8 international Airports servicing the DR with direct flights from the US, Puerto Rico, Canada, Europe and many other places such as Turk and Caico Islands.

The Dominican Republic is the most traveled country in the Caribbean out pacing Puerto Rico for the first time last year and expected to grow.

It depends what you're looking for .. we've stayed at the Sunscape Punta Grande, Natura Park which are both smaller resorts. Also stayed at the Melia.. we prefer the smaller resorts but had a great time at all three!!!

Try Sun Village in Cofresi ... beautiful small town, Ocean World is just steps away, the beach is yours during the week, the marina is great for a morning walk.

I personally like Montecristi. There are NO tourists there, and it is a nice little town.

So many options....

Sosua or Puerto Plata for partying....
Punta Cana for relaxation and powder white beaches....
Samana for whale watching and quiet beaches....
Bayahibe for beautiful beaches, and golf at Casa de Campo (one of the top 100 golf courses in the world!)
Santo Domingo for tours of history and culture....

We've opted for Punta Cana next month.....
