Jamaica is full of beautiful romantic places to honeymoon.
It all depends on what your preference is.
If you want an exclusive, romantic hotel but in a "Fun" area... there is the Sandals Negril Beach Resort & Spa... Beautiful hotel and right on the world famous 7 mile white sand beach. Great for young lovers because of the local night life.
Something a little more exclusive would be Sandals Dunn's River. Sandals all over the Island offer supreme hospitality and supreme hotels overall. The thing that differs are the locations.
Ocho Rios is a popular tourist destination where you will find the best shopping.
Super Clubs offer nice hotels geared toward couples or adult visitors. Breezes, Grand Lido, San louci... all great hotels. Try visiting this website for more information.

The best place to go depends on what it is you want out of your honeymoon. You will almost certainly spend the greatest amount of your time at the resort you choose so picking the resort is the most important thing.
You need to think about what kind of a resort you want. You probably know that resorts are rated in stars for how plush they are but there are other major differences. Some are romantic, some are relaxing, and some are fun. Some allow children and even cater to them, some only allow ages 14 and over, and some are very much adult (Hedonism resorts.) These are just a couple of examples.
After you have begun to decide what you want in a resort go to TripAdvisor.com and you can compare all of them on the island. You will quickly be able to cut the list down by what you want. Look at the amenities of each resort and you will be able to see if you are interested in it. The list will quickly shorten.
You can compare the resorts by trip resorts written by previous visitors and go to the Forums section to ask questions and get very informed answers. Have fun researching the resort and have a great honeymoon. |

I will tell you from recent Honeymoon experience. We spent 7 nights and 8 days at Couples Swept away. It located in Negril and about a 2 hour bus ride from Montego Bay Airport. It was the best vacation I have ever been on and doesn't compare to the other resorts. There is a few of these on the island and they are a franchise. One thing we didn't do and wish we did was going to one of the falls trips. It was fantastic and would recommend Couples Swept Away, Negril. You can find them on the web and look at their specials and book through a travel agent. It is all inclusive and would suggest it highly. Make sure wherever you go that you meet other couples, it makes it more fun to do things in and out of the resort! |

Without a doubt you will need to stay in Negril. The best resort in my opinion is the Grand Lido Negril. It's a super-inclusive resort... right next door to Hedonism if you have a wicked side. But steer clear if you don't. The beaches are absolutely beautiful in Negril. I've been to Negril, Montego Bay and Ocho Rios. Negril is perfect for Honeymooners, Montego Bay is perfect for a mix of party, Ocho Rios is perfect for partying and shopping. |

My husband and I took a honeymoon in Jamaica in Jan 04. We stayed at the Sandcastles Resort in Ocho Rios. The hotel was okay and not too expensive, but knowing now what I did not know then, I would have stayed at a different resort. Look for a resort with a private beach. Sandcastles has access to a public beach which means that anyone who pays (or walks on from another beach) can get on the beach. We were approached so often by people looking to sell drugs or bead necklaces, braid our hair, sing us songs (for tips) that we could scarcely relax and enjoy the sun. Luckily, the hotel had a pool, which is where we spent a great deal of time. Ocho Rios is beautiful. Dunn's River Falls is a must see (we took a catamaran ride that also included snorkeling near the reef). I would also recommend the tour of Bob Marley's home and tomb. It was a surreal experience and the jeep ride up the mountainside was long and bumpy but well worth it for the magnificent scenery. A warning - smoking marijuana is apparently legal on Bob Marley's property (it is considered sacred land), so if that sort of thing would offend or bother you, you'd want to skip out on that tour. |

Sandals Resorts. They are all-inclusive food and drink. They have nightlife, activities, water sports all included in one price.
A best bet for a honeymoon couple. You will meet people there, that you have as friends a lifetime.

We stayed at Couples All Inclusive. All inclusive is definately the way to go, you don't have to worry about anything when you get there. You can eat whenever and do whatever, so relaxing and so much fun! If I could do it over, I would have stayed at a Sandals resort, they seem to be a littl nicer, but we absolutely loved Couples. It was wonderful. (we stayed in the one in Ocho Rios which is cool because you can go to Dunns River Falls which is fun, the only down side to Ocho Rios is it was about a 2 hr drive from the airport and when it takes you all day to fly there, the last thing you want to do is drive a long time too... espeically on your HONEYMOON!!!!!!!!) |

the best place in Jamaica to go on your honey moon is Sandals Whitehouse All-inclusive Resorts in Savanna-La-Mar in Westmoreland. It is set on 50 lushly wooded acres and features a half-mile of private white sand beach. It is an hour and fifteen minutes from Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St. James. |

Hands down, Sandals Negril. We just came back from there on our honeymoon and it was the most beautiful, wonderful place. Negril has a 7 mile long white sand beach, the water is crystal clear, and the people are outstandingly wonderful. Honestly the nicest people in the world. I highly recommend it. |

OMG Jamaica is so wonderful. Dunn's River Falls was great. you walk up this river fall with other people and it is super fun. the water is super COLD though. the seven mile strip is also very fun. Jamaica has so much to offer. There is even a Jimmy Buffet resturant there. you can't forget to eat the jerked chicken and rice and beans that is a traditional meal there. it is a wonderful country and i loved it i hope you do too. |
