With US$200,000 dollars you can buy a good house (2 level, 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, 2 parking etc, for us$125,000 in a decent area In Santo Domingo este) things in here are not such cheap as you might think. and that money in here is like almost 7 million pesos. so depends on how you handle money you can live in here.
The weather here is always between.
20-28 celcius all year around.
Good luck!!! |

you would live like a billionaire. I love the capital Santo Domingo and Santiago. Which are both very large cities in the Dominican Republic. |

In Santiago. The richest area, the second biggest and largest city, and still growing. The only thing we're missing in Santiago is the beach, but we got it 40 minutes away. |

Near Santo Domingo, and directly north of Boca Chica, They are building new homes in subdivision type layout. You can buy one of these new homes for under $20,000. If you invest your remaining money wisely, you can live well for many years. The weather is perfect yearound except for an occasional hurricane. |

All depend what you are looking for. If you like big city (Santo Domingo 3.500.000 souls) or if you prefer a more clean and healthy life near the sea, go to Puerto Plata at the north coast.
With this money you have you can easily buy a house (or build one) and live happy ! Your choice! |

Well, I'm not completely sure, but from what I hear is that the southwest is virgin land and to invest in buying a home there now would be in your best interest, before the land gets too expensive. Plus, the beaches and the scenery are beautiful and life is much more peaceful than in the big touristy cities. But, then again, that's . . . |

Depends on the life style you like. The north coast is nice places like Puerto Plata and Cabarete...etc are very nice. Santiago is nice as well. |
