Go to Sandals in Negril. Montego Bay is boring. |

The difference between Montego Bay and Negril is Montego Bay is a busy city and Negril is a small town with a beautiful 7 mile beach. Check out Grand Lido Negril. another one is Sunset at the Palms, small and quaint, really good food, and is in Negril. First time to Jamaica definatly head to Negril. |

We have been to Couples Swept Away in Negril three years in a row. While we were there we looked at some of the neighboring hotels and found that they can't top Swept Away! It's all-inclusive and for age 18 and up only. The staff is friendly and attentive, the amenities are first-rate, and it's on the western end of Jamaica which means you get to watch the sun set on the ocean. Lots of free watersports and tours as well as some reasonably priced excursions. And you may be eligible for some special treatment for your anniversary, because it is a popular wedding destination. Choosing between Montego Bay and Negril is a no-brainer. If you like busy, close, and touristy, Montego Bay. If you prefer to be pampered and catered to in exclusive luxury, Couples Swept Away in Negril is the clear choice. By the way, we are in your same age range. |

stayed at sandals negril last year, some of the rooms are a bit old, but they have added a bunch of new suites(river suites), great service, great beach, wonderful place to relax and have fun, had a friend that went to motego bay it seems to be a little more for the younger party crowd the plus is you dont have to take a 2 hour van ride to motego bay, if you have never been in one of these van rides brace yourself it is quite an expirence |

I have been to Montego Bay and stayed at the Sunset Beach Resort. I don't remember there being much near the hotel. We took a trip to Dunn's River Falls (took a couple hours to get there, then climbed up a waterfall.) We also did a little shopping and clubs. My group was ages 23-35. I'm going back later this year and we are going to Negril. I've read it's more laid back and romantic. From doing research looking at maps it seems Negril's hotels are closer together, there is cliff area and a beach area. In Montego the hotels are spread apart (see one here...........see another there etc). |

The Travel Channel's website has a lot of information on Jamaica. In fact, both Montego Bay and Negril had beaches in the Travel Channels top 10 Caribbean beaches. Also, all inclusive resorts have different ideas of what is included. Depends on what you are looking for... Do you want a lot of sporting type activities... Would you rather just hang out by the beach and enjoy each others company and a few cocktails? Beaches resort in Negril is very nice. Here is the website http://www.beaches.com/main/ng/ng-home.cfm |
