Where is the best place to stay in Puerto Rico?

The Capitol city is one of the most beautuful cities in America, Puerto Rico is really tiny, so you can stay in san Juan and rent a car, you can travel by car trhough the island and visit many different towns. At the norht, San Juan, El yunque, PiÃ±ones, Arecibo and Camuy, at the east, Fajardo, at the South Ponce, Guanica, Lajas, at the west San German and Mayaguez. At the center, go to the litttle bars and you will find excellent food for just a few dollars. Everything out of the capitol city area is cheaper and better. If you like the beach but you budget is not that high then you can stay in one of the Little Guest houses in Condado, cheaper than big hotels. take a good sun block with you and enjoy!

Well it all depends on you're buget, me I like a nice place that is nice and clean, close to everything and is not expensive, I recomend to look up for http://www.canariohotels.com/lagoon.htm nice prices and they are very friendly, the room has a frigde and a insafe. plus they are very clean and has a small parking. I stay there every year and works for me since I go on a budget.

If youre going on vacation the bes place to stay is Villa montana www.villamontana.com. Its a resort and its beautiful. its a little pricey but its worth every penny. The resort have cottages and hotel rooms. Cottages are closer to the beach but we stayed in a hotell room wich was a lot cheaper but it was steel great. They have different activities like kayaking, snorkeling, surfing, back horse ridding. They rent bikes, have pools, gym, tennis court. Spa services, you can get a massage right next to the beach. it was awesome.

The Conquistador in the North East of the Island. In the Condado the Marriott and the Caribe Hilton and in Isla Verde the San Juan Hotel.

Try the northwest area. Aguadilla, Aguada, RincÃ³n, Quebradillas ... and specially Isabela. Isabela has good beaches and beautiful hotels. The northwest area of PR is very simple and nice, and it has a lot of "must see" places like "El Faro" in Rincon, "El Merendero" in Quebradillas, "Las Cascadas" in Aguadilla, "Playa Jobos" in Isabela ... the best!! In summary, try the northwest area of Puerto Rico.

In the Metropolitan Area the Caribe Hilton. The hotel have a lot of amenities and is located in an spectacular area in front of the enter to the Condado Lagun.You can find there the only private beach on the island, a small castle, the San Geronimo, excellent restaurants, bars and pools. You can also find good hotels in the Condado and Isla Verde areas like the Marriott. Outside San Juan I have to chose the Conquistador in Fajardo (east). The Hotel is located in a hill overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The facilities are excellent and you can find there a 5 stars resort area: Las Casitas and a private island. If you like adventures prefer to stay in a less crowded(and less expensive) areas try the Paradores the Puerto Rico.

I don't know if by "best" you mean most expensive or best in terms of pricing.

However, if you like the upbeat environment, I suggest the Caribe Hilton in San Juan.

If you like the tranquility, I know of three places: The Ponce Hilton, in Ponce. To me, not because most of my family is from there, but it is THE BEST TOWN!

El Conquistador Hotel in Fajardo. Wonderful Hotel. See if Expedia has a good special going on. . .

Vieques and Culebra are two small islands east of PR. They have the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. The Caribbean Sea is just great.

So, the best place to stay in the Island as for towns?

We stayed at the Caribe Hilton. It was very nice. You could also walk to old town and the fort of San Cristobal from there. There was a real good restaurant on the corner, too.

when ever i go i always stay at a place called TU CASA...and its beautiful...by the beach, very clean..and they have a bar outside a little restaurant and indoor kitchen in the rooms... its amazing
