SO you obviously want to stay in San Juan. Old San Juan is where the best nightlife is, but you will most likey not be on the beach. Isla Verde is the neighborhood you want for the beach. Isla Verde is a 10 min taxi ride to Old San Juan which is great, plus you get the nice beaches. & all the hotels here have bars, restaraunts & casinos as well. Condado is nice too, but make sure you get beachfront & not oceanfront or condado lagoon, b/c there is water but no sand. Here are some of the best choices to stay at for you. Just beware some hotels in San Juan are pricey:

Any hotels in Isla Verde, beach front property that is, is your best bet. It's a long modern strip with restaurants, bars and stores. Visit tripadvisor.com and enter the keywords "Isla Verde" and see other peoples recommendations in terms of hotels and bars recommendation. You might even get valuable information than what you expected.

Isla Verde , El Condado
Old San Juan is where cruise ships come in and out daily dropping off tons of people. I would recommend staying at Isla Verde. You are not far from Old San Juan there and on the beach. |
