If price doesn't matter, the Excellence Punta Cana is a fantastic place to go, especially if you upgrade to Club status. This is a five star resort. ( no children under 18 ) They have a casino, stage shows and a huge pool. You can order drinks at the pool without moving from your spot. If you upgrade to the Club Excellence your mini bar is stocked daily with soda, beer, wine, and two different types of rum. There are several other benefits with the club. To many to mention. There are several a-la-cart restaurants. No reservations needed.
The only down side is when the ocean gets rough you have to make sure your swim suit is tight. More than one person has been stripped by a wave and when the wave recedes your standing only ankle deep without a bathing suit. |

Sunscape the Beach is a terrific place to stay. If you book through Apple Vacations they will be on ssite to help you with any problems you may have. Their excursions are wonderful (the Outback Safari, Marinarium with snorkeling, rum factory/shopping tour). They were the least expensive and we received a $200 rebate when we returned from our trip. |

we stayed at the sun scape the beach. it was a wonderful resort! the resort is clean. the staff speak English or understand it. they have a small casino, nightly entertainment, wonderful pool, wonderful food. the beach is brown. in front of the resort you can see the mountains and the ocean is at the back of the resort. a short walk there is a small shopping area. the only bad thing is it is an hour or so from the airport and the roads are not in good shape. we had a wonderful time. we also stayed at the punta cana grand i believe that is the name of the hotel now. it also was wonderful. at this resort the sand is white. food was wonderful. the staff was wonderful also. we took our kids with us to both resorts and they both had a wonderful time. hope you have a wonderful time. |

Hands down check out www.tripadvisor.com It has traveler reviews and traveler photos of each resort. So if you have a few resorts you have narrowed down, check out that site. Pictures of the inside of the rooms, and the pools, beach etc..
I have stayed at 2 resorts there, the Grand Palladium and Ocean Blue Golf and Beach. We loved Ocean Blue. www.oceanhotels.net They do have 2 catagories of rooms, the regular suite room and then the upgraded suite room. GO UPGRADED. We paid about 150 each for the upgraded week.
