All of the Eastern Carribean has great turquise water (St. Thomas, V.I, St. Maarten/St. Martin). St. Thomas has a lot of pure white fine sand and super clear waters. |

Find an area where they have rocks or pebbles instead of sand, that is where, this is why the mediteranean is usually so much bluer. Sand unfortunetly is so light that it gets picked up by the waves and turns the water murky. The only place you will find turquoise waters with sand is behind a sand bar or in an atoll where waves don't go. |

I live in Great Exuma, Bahamas about 3-6 months every year, and have lived in Puerto Rico. I have also been throughout the Caribbean most of my life.
I can tell you as a sailor that Exuma has the best clarity and totally unspoiled waters that I have been to. I will also include that I have also spent time in the South Pacific. Great Exuma is It. |

Bonaire is wonderful. use to be a protected reef area with very little to no population on the island. It is still protected but the most intact of all the caribbean islands. it is near aruba but a little more south. It is known as the best scuba diving in the world. the water is beatutiful night and day. resturants right on the shore line have lights relecting on the water and you can watch the tropical fish as you dine. (and there is no yucky fish smell) |

Cozumel has GREAT water if you want to travel to Mexico-- also, Los Cabos is more rocky, and has really good water also. I have heard Jamaica has GREAT water, as well as the Dominican Republic. You really can't go wrong with any of the places-- even Cancun has some nice beach spots!!! If you do go to Cancun/Cozumel/Playa Del Carmen, go to Tulum... some of the clearest water you have ever seen and quite possibly some of the best pictures you will ever take-- it's Mayan ruins on a cliff jetted out by the ocean. Totally secluded and you can even swim on their beach. |
