Island wise- St. John is awesome.

If you can give up on the island an just go beach (to become more affordable) I would say Playa del Carmen in Mexico. Playa Del Carmen is outside Cauncun (by aboout 45 minutes) but is smaller and relaxing.

It is better than Cabo because since it is on the East cost of Mexico you get the COMPLETELY CLEAR Caribbean waters. There is great suba diving and good night life. For a totally awesome honeymoon recommendation I would stay at the Grand Mayan (not to confuse it with the Royal Mayan or Mayan Palace.)

My husband and I stayed in one in Acapulco.

If I could do my honeymoon again (we went to Jamaica)- I would pick the Grand Mayan in Playa Del Carmen. I think it is actually called the "Grand Mayan Riviera Maya". http://www.thegrandmayan.com/riviera/
MAKE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE PHOTO GALARY FROM THE LINK ABOVE

Here are some reviews of the Grand Mayan Riviera Maya:

It is perfect relxing, beautiful, and really would provide the perfect honeymoon.

On a second note- Another cheaper hotel I would recommend in the area is the Hotel Riviera Caribe Maya.
Here is a link for that hotel:

I heard that Fiji is really pretty and OK on the financial end of things. It is really private and not a bunch of tourists, so it's more secluded. HOpe that helps

I think Maui is great. Stay in the Lahaina area. Enjoy!

Siesta Key, Florida. Affordable and beautiful. Outside of the US, it's not an island but Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica...

3 kids and 2 on the way
I went to Little Gasparilla Island, which is about 30 miles from Siesta Key. It's so private you can only get to it by boat. There are no cars or stores or anything there, but they have a boat that goes back and forth to the mainland all day long. It's beautiful and completely uncommercial, which was great for us!

Treasure Beach, Jamicia. I used to live near there. It is on the south side of the island. It is very quite. Everytime I was there we were the only ones there. You feel like a princess with everyone waiting on you hand and foot. Food and drinks included.. Last time I was there a few years ago it was considerably cheeper than most resorts on the other side about 50 American to spend the afternoon, including meal. It has a private beach and is in a lush area.

Another one there is on the north side in Montego Bay.
Jack Tar Village.
Everything is included. There is always an open bar and someone to fix you something to eat. It is more, but there are activites and games. Every night has a different theme. There are guest talent shows, limbo, toga night etc. The have extras you can pay for like scuba lessons and parasailing. I like it because three are several little "restaurants" all over the resort with different types of food. It also has a private beach that is shielded by a wall from the other beaches.

The cheapest way to go anywhere is to stay away from the tourist stuff. I have lived just about everywhere and I can tell you prices can go up triple or more in tourist areas. Find a little secluded area... like Treasure Beach and rent a car or hire a driver. (Much cheaper than you think) If you do this Go see YS falls and Little Ochies. Ask the islanders in the resort. They will tell you the good little known locations.

I LOVE KAUAI. YOU CAN STAY AT A HOUSE FOR A LOT LESS THAN THE HOTELS AND RIGHT ON THE BEACH!!! RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM SYLVESTER STALLONES HOUSE!IF YOU LOOK FOR AN OFF SEASON ..NOT TO OFF YOU WILL GET A DEAL AND GOOD WEATHER!
THEN JUST BUY ALREADY MADE FOODS AND STICK THEM IN YOUR REFRIGERATOR. IF YOU ATTEND A 90 MINUTE TIME SHARE YOU CAN RECEIVE FREE TICKETS TO LUAU'S OR OTHER EVENTS. THE BEACH IS ALWAYS ROMANTIC! REALLY YOU DON'T NEED TO BUY MUCH ONCE YOU ARE THERE. THERE ARE SOME TRAVEL COMPANIES THAT WILL LET YOU SET UP A PAYMENT PROGRAM SO THE MONEY COMING FROM YOUR ACCOUNT DOESN'T HURT AS MUCH! KAUAI'S SMALL ISLAND HAS CHARISMA AND CHARM. A REAL HAWAIIAN FEEL!!!!
