There are just so many depending on what your interests are. My personal favorite resort is Sol Melia Rio Luna y Mares it's at Guardelavaca a beach area about an hour by bus from the airport at Holguin. Please check the links below they will give you some ideas. You can rest assured no matter where you go you will love Cuba and the Cuban people they are as incredible as the island.

Yes, enjoy Cuba so much while Cubans die trying to escape and reach the USA.

You have been given excellent links and suggestions.
Another area that is beautiful is Cayo Coco. The water and sand are simply gorgeous. It's also a 15 minute drive from airport. Sol Meliá resorts are one of the best throughout Cuba...as well as Iberostar. Just be sure to book a hotel that is no less than a 4* to ensure quality of accomodation, services, food, etc...
Santa Lucia is nice for the beaches too...Cayo Coco, Cayo Sabinal, Cayo Guillermo are located in one of the most beautiful coral reefs of the world.

You will find anywhere in Cuba to be wonderful and the nicest because the Cubans are hospitable everywhere.
