Where is the safest area, to live in Jamaica?

I will be returning to Jamaica in a few years time, (40 years absence)but have heard so much about the murder rate being very high, especially among "returnees", because they are seen as being wealthy in comparison and easy pickings.I used to live in a gated community, in Clarendon. Any suggestions as to an area, perhaps north of the island?

Its safe..... you'll be ok, i think the safest places are where the tourists are and the sorrounding areas, just be shrewed and careful dont show off to much bling lol.

all the best.

hello
in montego bay , ironshore or coral gardens , preferably in a gated community as you said. but dont worry Jamaica is not like Haiti.

Funny Lad
what is the point of returning, 40 years, it's not going to be like when you went away. I think head off to thailand to retire.
