Where should i go in the caribbean?

well, we plan to go around nov 22. But- we know that is 2 days after hurricane season ends. we are afraid that it will be rainy. can you tell me an island that is PERFECT at this time?

We definitely don't want to go to PR or USVI. Also, not the Bahamas, Cuba, and a cruise. We are a bit skeptical about St. marten/ Saint Maarten, because we heard woman go topless. ( we have a 13 year old girl)

We would love to go to a beach with warm, clear blue water with very small waves. We want to be able to swim in the water. Also, if it rains, will it affect the water? When we went to panama FL, it rained once and the water was cloudy, cold and had huge waves for the rest of our stay.

Yes, there is ONE nude beach in St. Maarten... and I believe it is adults only, but there are MANY other beautiful beaches there.

The weather is going to be pretty consistent throughout all of the Caribbean islands... there won't be one island that is just exempt from the rain.

I recommend: Antigua, Curaçao, Martinique, and St. Lucia, my personal favorites.

I do not recommend: Jamaica & Barbados, my personal least favorites.

I'd say definitely look into all of those 4 that I recommended. Also, check out Turks & Caicos. I can't recommend it because I haven't been there, but I've heard excellent things. When choosing, also take into consideration any language barriers. Antigua and St. Lucia's official languages are English, while Curaçao's is Dutch, and Martinique's is French. Personally for me, I do not mind being somewhere where another language is spoken. I see it as an opportunity to learn something new.

I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you chose. It can be hard to go wrong in the Caribbean.

With all the restrictions you put on your question you won't get much help. PR is fabulous, and having been there as well as the other islands you mention I would recomend them wholeheartedly. They have received many tourists over the years so if you are looking to escape other people then you will be dissapointed.
Barbados may interest you. They have the oldest rum maker I could find when I was looking to make a traditional grog recipe, over 300 years. St. Lucia is a beautiful place as well. Some of my friends have gone to both places while working on job projects and speak very well of them for water clarity, and scenery.

I would recommend either CancĂșn, Mexico or even Cozumel. That time of year is perfect and the waves in the ocean are very small. It hardly ever rains and if it does rain it usually only rains for like 5-20 minutes while the sun is out and it goes away. The Caribbean ocean in Cancun is amazingly warm and you can see the bottom. You can go even 100yrds out in the ocean and still be able to touch the bottom. Keep in mind there are different parts of the ocean in Cancun, but the smaller waved beaches (like I am describing) are on the upper side of Cancun (the Gulf of Mexico). Also, if you want look at either St. Barts or the Cayman Islands...the Caymans are really nice and relaxing. Yes, you are right don't go to Puerto Rico, I've heard bad stories of trips there. St. Kitts or the Barbados are nice as well even St. Croix. Anywhere you go the water won't get cloudy like it did in Florida. In the Caribbean you have to remember that you are in a tropical climate so even if it does rain..it's not rain like we have in the U.S.. It's a lot cleaner of water, so you won't have to worry about it clouding up. I will let you know this though. The real Caribbean islands you are talking about...there is always a chance you will run into women that are topless and yes sometimes completely nude. In the Caribbean there are no rules as to being topless. If the woman wants she can take it off and a lot do because there are a lot of eruopean people that flock to the Caribbean and european people are use to being topless. My suggestion would be either Cayman Islands, Cozumel, Turks and Caicos, or Barbados. Just do some research on the first link I gave you. There are all kinds of islands to name and it's really hard for me to pick just one. Good luck and enjoy your time. It's beautiful in the Caribbean.
