Where should we go on our Honeymoon Riu Montego Bay or Riu Negril?
Both are about the same price. We are going to do be in an all inclusive and don't plan on leaving the resort except for excursions. I really want to go to Dunn's Falls. We want BLUE water :) Is one better than the other?
Negril. Stayed at the Riu Tropical Bay and it was great. Wonderful staff, clean facilities, good food and drinks. Bartenders were awesome and the beaches are wonderful with nice blue water. Montego Bay is more touristy. I had never been on vacation and that was my first. It was great. Our main bartender was Jefferson and he was a lot of fun. Enjoy.

The RIU Palace Tropical Bay is on a great beach in Negril. The water in Negril is SOOO much better than in Montego Bay. Yes, Dunn's River Falls would be a nice visit, but you really want BLUE water. Negril is more romantic for a honeymoon. If you stayed in Montego Bay, the drive to Ocho Rios for a Dunn's River Falls trip would be approximately 2 hours each way. You could visit YS Falls outside of Negril. It is smaller, but less touristy. By staying in Negril, you could also visit the cliffs for sunset and to watch the cliff divers.

don't listen to the first answer he is a fake. i suggest you go to riu montego bay and then you could pay a taxi to go to ocho rios or go on a tour (if you want) that includes dunn's river falls. montego bay is closer to ocho rios than negril so if you stay at Montego bay it would be a little cheaper to go to ocho rios.

Riu Montego Bay is the newest RIU property in Jamaica, my friend did a site inspection there and told me it was great. However, RIU Palace in Negril is my favorite of those that I have been to. Dunns River Falls is in Ocho Rios and is about a 2-3 hr drive from Negril. You can arrange for transportation to Dunns River through your hotel tour desk. However, if you don't want to do a long drive there is a RIU hotel in Ocho Rios that is just a great and can be a good option for you.
Which ever one you choose - you will still have a great time.

I am going to Riu Tropical Bay in Negril for my wedding this year. My travel agent has been there plenty of times and she said it is wonderful. I really haven't done any research for the one in montego bay but i read reviews for the one i am going to and there were lots of great positive comments.

RIU Negril would be my choice. BEAUTIFUL beaches. But Dunn's River falls is in Ocho Rios which is further away from Negril than Montego Bay.
My suggestion is NEGRIL. The extra distance is worth it.
