No church wedding? Only civil? You do need to get in touch with the court and find out how to get an officiant for a couple out of state. They should tell you if it's even possible to get an officiant out of the court to celebrate it.
I just read an article saying that the Senate has approved for Notaries to perform the rituals since only priests, pastors, and judges were the only ones to do this. If you get a judge, he's not supposed to get "paid for it" between the hours of 9-5pm, if it's before or after, he can ask for a fee. You must have a medical clearance before the wedding (that's everywhere in the island) whether or not you are a resident.

If you are staying at a hotel by the beach, you could even perform the wedding there at your hotel.

there is a hotel there .... it's a very old nunnery that people rent out. has a nice ambiance to it.

the beach would be a great option. the cruise ships have little chapels. we met a couple on one , we were table mates. table of 8, they invited all six of us to their wedding. after the wedding there was a lounge area and they delivered a small cake for us and they served campaigne. was quite an honor / fun experience.

you should do it in "el morro." its an old fort in old san juan and its beeaauutiful!!! La Isla del encanta is perfect for a wedding!!! congratulations and i wish u the best of luck
