Negril is beautiful, and lots of fun. Rent a scooter to get around. When I was there, it was not overly commercialized. My favorite place to eat was Sonya's on an open sandy lot on the beach with picnic tables under palm trees and a little open-air kitchen on one side. Great food. Stay away from the big resorts - they're not worth the price and you are too isolated from the locals. |

By far the nicest, safest, funnest place to visit in Jama is Negril. Beautiful 7 mile beach, tons of bars, restaurants, resorts.
Rick's Cafe is cool, but if you really want to have fun, check out Bob Marley's old house (there's a cool cave in the back that has a huge spring in it that you can go swimming in.) Black River tour is cool if you want to see some wildlife. If you are at ochos rios (8 rivers) check out Dunn's waterfall, its fun if you never seen before, but if you're looking for something out of the ordinary check out the Blue Hole. Its this awesome swimming hole that mostly locals visit, but its well worth the trek. You might want to hire a quide as its a little hard to find. But if you ask me, Negril is where you want to be. MoBay sux unless all you plan on doing is scuba diving. |

The both of those places are great to visit but there is so much more to the island other than 2 locations. Visit Portland, Negril, Kingston and also Port Royal. |
