Which Jamaican all-inclusive is better?

My fiance and I are going on our honeymoon in the end of Oct of this year. We're torn between two resorts in Negril Jamaica: Couples Sweptaway and Sandals Negril.

Does anyone have any advice? Has anyone stayed at either resort? I used Google Earth and found that they're RIGHT next to each other, literally only separated by a fence or some trees...but I'm afraid the service, food or cleanliness may be different between the two.

We're both looking for a resort that has a great beach, great snorkling, good food, 24-hour room service and some free tours.

You can research these resorts, and many more, at TripAdvisor.com. Type in the resort name in the search area and you will see dozens of trip reports written by previous visitors. You can read the resort amenities and policies, see "candid traveler photos" taken and posted by people who stayed at the resorts, and you can ask questions in the "forums" section.

Perhaps you should decide what kind of resort you are looking for. Do you want relaxation or fun? Do you want a children to be allowed or not? Some resorts cater to kids, some allow 14 and up, and some allow only adults.

The two resorts you chose are both very nice and reputable, but there are many more in Jamaica. Again, ask what you want in the "perfect" resort and then go to TripAdvisor.com and research from there. You might find that one of those two is indeed exactly what you want in a resort. But then again you might find that you want something else. It is very likely that Jamaica has just the right place for you on your honeymoon. Have fun researching! (It really is fun!)

I must say Sandals chain,a group of Hotels that are not just located in my country,Jamaica, but Caribbean wide, and to my Understanding( Jamaican news paper article and CBC ) has won the prestigious prize of best hotel for more than 12 years in a row, do you want anything more than that, there Butler service room services are excellent, and so are there properties.and the awards for best hotel in great guess services, that's a competition that takes up world wide hoteliers, and looks at every thing before a decision is made like that, now you see why Sandals is the best.I have worked in the Hotel industry for more than 2 1/2 years and everyone who spent a little time with sandals never regretted a moment or a dollar, trust me i know.
They have a wide range of selection from family to singles, for beach setting,to rusty cab bin like feature,by far they offer more get aways than any other hotel region wide,as they employee more than 22,000 employee's Caribbean wide.
But you can also check out Couples Resort,Holiday inn and Half Moon resort.
Or the Super Clubs chain.(Breezes Montego bay, breezes Runaway Bay,).

Go to http://www.love.allabouthoneymoons.com they can plan any type of trip not just honeymoons and destination weddings. If you tell them what you like and your budget they will plan the perfect trip for you.Best of all if you use there service to book your trip there service is free b/c the fee is paid by the hotel or resort. They booked our trip to sandals and it was GREAT!!!!

Firstly, I would like to say Congrats on your engagement!

Jamaica, especially Negril is a wonderful choice for a Honeymoon. Between these two, honestly I sell them pretty equally. I have had clients that prefer Sandals and others that prefer Couples.

With Sandals, you are then open to go to the Beaches properties if you choose to. With Couples Swept Away, there are no exchange privileges with Couples Negril. They both are considered "Ultra All Inclusive" in meals, beverages, tipping, non-motorized, 24 hr room service etc.

With Sandals Negril if I remember right about here, you need to be in a certain room category to get the 24 hour room service. Both I have heard has great service and food.

With either of these, you want to be careful in staying in the lowest categories due to the Negril airport and the road there. Those rooms can be a bit noisy even at night.

Both these property have the "true beachfront rooms". Beachfront rooms only means bringing you as close to the beach as that property allows, but with these two properties you can literally get the "walk out onto the sand" rooms.

Sandals have more room categories to choose from, but then again it's all in what you are looking for. Without knowing more though, it's hard to give a more solid recommendation.

I will say though Sandals and Couples do have great "return guest" benefits; however between the 2 I think Sandals program is a bit better.

Again, I say either is a good choice. I would strongly recommend working with a Travel professional, and I don't even mean it would need to be me.

You only get one Honeymoon; you don't want to leave anything to chance. Agencies don't charge "commission" as some may think. Many will charge a nominal service fee, because if you find a good agent once dates, room category, resort is narrowed down then we search many vendors to find you not only the best flight times, your specific room available, but the best price available for your dates. Also with travel, as an agent we really do our best to make sure you encounter no problems. We all know though, things in travel can happen. It's nice though if something does you have a go-to person instead of an 800 # waiting for the next available rep. and never speaking with the same person twice.

Best of Luck to you!

I've been to sandals and it was wonderful! unfortuneatly i havent been to sweptaway. But i guarantee u'll have a good time either way, negril is awesome, probly the only thing i miss. I would definately do Sandals though. The air, scenery and hospitality is great!
