The best beaches has to go to Antigua. While it is one of the smaller islands, it has 365 beaches! It is absolutely beautiful. The people are friendly (it was a British colony until 1981 so they are very proper). It is a little pricey getting there, but well worth it. It is not overly touristy like most of the islands have become. It isn't a "party island" though. There are several clubs and bars. If you want lots of partying go to a bigger island. But the food/restaurants in Antigua are amazing.

I've only been on 11 of them. I require much more research. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Barbados has the softest beaches anywhere. Love the people in St. Lucia. Love everything about St. Maarten.

The best Caribbean island for all that you are after is the Cayman Islands http://www.caymanislands.ky white sand beaches, crystal clear water (some of the best scuba diving in the world because of the clear water), prices are reasonable, cocktails yummmmmmmmmmmm, party/clubs are plentyful in all aspects, people are super friendly (hey they're on a Caribbean island) - all in all it's a great place to be :O)

Please don't listen to rbreeze 1. He may have bought the T-shirt, but bet it did not fit very well. Meg-ron has it right for best "overall". That would be Antigua. I think my many excursions to the islands has taught me that in the end it is the PEOPLE that make your trip. And the people are deliciously friendly and helpful. All have pretty beaches, water, cocktails, and clubs. You will get what you pay for at Antigua. The prices are generally right.
