Which is better, Cruise or All inclusive vacations?

It totally depends on the cruise line, where it is going, how long at sea, etc as well as the details on the inclusive resort. My vote is for the cruise where you don't waste too much time at sea though. I did a 7 day Hawaiian cruise where they travel from island to island at night. It was the best thing ever because you had all day for seven days to go play on the islands with all the Polynesian honeys and then slept through the travel part.

This is a personal preference .... I don't really like cruises cuz I would rather actually be IN Jamaica, chillin on the beach, dancing at a local bar, heading up into the mountains, etc. I don't like being stuck on a cruise ship and only having 8 hours to explore an awesome country like Jamaica.

Looks like I'm in the minority here. I've only ever been on one cruise. It was through the Tahitian Islands (Bora Bora, Moorea) This was on the Paul Gaugin (an ultra-luxury liner) and is a top notch cruise. 195 passengers to 200 staff ( when we went)

I've been to 7 all inclusives in the Caribbean. To me there's no comparison. Cruising is not my thing. You don't get to see much of any country on a cruise. People who have been to Jamaica get about 5-6 hours to go on a tour. You're just getting a little blip of any country doing that. You're not able to get out and see the " real " country.

I also hated the fact, you had to wait for the tender to take you out and then pick you back up.

The only cruise I would ever take again is the Alaskan one, and only because the scenery is so spectacular.

Another thing I hate is when people say..oh I've been to the Grand Caymens, Jamaica, Mexico, Bahamas, Barbados etc etc etc. Sorry, no you haven't unless you've stayed there. Going on a cruise doesn't count in my opinion. You don't see enough of anything for bragging rights.

Just my opinion tho

All inclusives are nice
it's hard to see a place via a cruise, you get very little time
I have been to Couples Negril in Jamaica
it was fantastic and the city was nice too

Most cruises do not offer free alcoholic drinks where as most inclusive vacations do. Also take in consideration, not all people can take cruises due to severe motion sickness. Now that said, I prefer the cruise thing because you go to more than one place.

I think it depends on what you want to get from your vacation .
Any kind of tourism is obviously helpfull to the islands economy but i think it is nice to experience real culture and communicate and enjoy the island and its people.I dont think that can be done on a boat or in the confines of an all inclusive resort.Theres a whole country out there.
Have a good one!
