Which is better for a honeymoon mexico or jamaica?

My fiance and I have never been out of the country so both are completely new to us. We had kind of decided on mexico but then heard on the news there was a lot of civial unrest. He now thinks we should do jamaica. We're looking for an all inclusive with good restaurants, nice rooms and lots of excursions to do. We want privacy but also stuff to do out of the resort, like shopping and going out. Any suggestions? Were going in the beginning of Nov. Thanks

Jamaica is the best choice. The main reason, they speak your language and you will also leave with a learned dialect so much visitors crave to learn.

Mexicans sometimes, because of language barriers can be quite irritated and fussy.

Come on down to Jamaica, get the Bob Marley legacy, learn reggae, learn the culture, and of course enjoy the cuisine all countries crave.

If it is Dunn's River, the fall will massage you and leave you pain free. Natural hotwater springs too at the Bath Fountain in St. Thomas heals.

Jamaica is fun, from Morant Point to Negril Point 144 square miles.

Remember Jamaica is English and the patois sweet to enjoy.

JAMAICA, YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

goodperson@heart
as a jamaican i know that jamaica is dangerous but the crime mainly occurs in the capital. isn't there alot of crime in new york also? its the same in jamaica. kingston is the city which most things occur and there are more parishes to choose from. i was watching the news and heard of kidnapping of tourists in mexico which you rarely see happen in jamaica. if you go to jamaica you should choose to go to negril, ocho rios or montego bay which is the touristy part and there are alot of things to do. if you choose to go to jamaica i suggest you go to the grand pallium which is located in lucea 25 minutes from the montego bay airport.

I was in Cancun 10 days in 2005. Cabo San Lucas for a month in Dec 2007 - Jan 2008. Jamaica for 8 days in May 2008. I had know problems in any of these towns other than the normal peddlers that Mexico is known for. This decision should be based on what type of Budget you have and what types of activities you like to do. Mexico is a big Country. So it depends on what town you where considering over a smaller island like Jamaica. I myself would never go back to Mexico.
Very Dirty! If you decide to take a walk a long one of their many beautiful beaches. You will spend most of your time saying NO THANK YOU. The PEDDLERS are NONE STOP. Must of the resorts in Jamaica have Private Beaches so that kind of thing does not go on. These resorts are full of Activities such as Horse back riding, Dune River Falls. Zip Lining in the Blue Mountains, Snorkeling, Depending on your Budget there are Several 4 star resorts such as Sandels, Rio Palace. The list goes on and on. Good Luck!

Neither would be my first choice. Check out the British Virgin Islands.

jamaica wouldnt be great then. from waht ive heard most of jamaica is dangerous for tourists to be in so the resorts are self-contained, you would get all inclusive and shops inside the resort i guess but its not a good idea to wonder around freely.
have you looked at the lonely planet website? that should give u lots of info

There's a lot of crime in Jamaica, too. That's why there are so many all-inclusives - so the guests don't have to leave the premises.

How about USVI or BVI or Aruba or Cayman?
