I dont know if its the best month but it was really cheap in May and the prices go back down in the next few weeks through September October. We went in late April 2 years ago because it was so cheap and the weather was great. (Punta Cana)

As a Dominican American I must say December is when most of my people go. I live in an area that may as well be called little DR. They're actually renaming a very busy street after the busy street in Santo Domingo. Avenida Las Americas. Needless to say I know a lot of Dominicans. They ALWAYS go in December. Jamaica Plain, MA 02130 look it up.

Be prepared for a lot of rain if you go there between May and November. That's hurricane season.

my name is Florence :)

If it is to stay inside a hotel/resort in Punta Cana (like most Americans) then every month is ok. If it is to really travel and discover go to Puerto plata (north coast) lot more to do and to discover and all the months are ok for exception of october and november for the rest it is just great. Enjoy it!

I don't know which month is the best but I can suggest any month in which they are not celebrating a holiday, that is if you really want to go there.

I went in the Spring and I can't remember the holiday they were celebrating but the timing could not have been worse. It was like a national holiday and the Dominicans take time off. The service was very bad, unless you were Dominican. Even when waiting to order a drink at a bar, they would take orders from Dominicans standing behind us. This happened repeatedly.

So my advice, per my experience, is to avoid any of their holidays and you should be ok. However, this island is on my "least want to return to" list. That and Margarita Island on the coast of Venezuela.
