Havana
One of the largest and most vibrant cities in the Caribbean
Pinar del RĂo and the west
Pinar del Río is arguably Cuba’s most beautiful province.
Trinidad and the center
Cienfuegos is a prosperous modern city built around a fine harbor at the foot of the Escambray Mountains.
Santiago de Cuba and the east
CamagĂĽey is one of the more heavily promoted towns of the island. Its attractions include a number of churches and museums and a thriving (and very photogenic) peso market.
My husband is Cuban from the Cienfuegos area, so I would definitely say Cienfuegos !!!

Havana is the largest and a must see as it has some of the best (music, dancing, sights, etc..) but also some of the worst (pollution, hustlers, etc..) that Cuba has to offer. As a tourist, most of your time will likely be in Havana Vieja which is touristy but for a good reason. The night life is quite good but spread out so you will have to take a taxi if you want to hit some of the more popular discos in Miramar and surrounding areas.

IMO and many other travelers, Trinidad is without a doubt the best town in Cuba. It's like being in a western movie set with its well preserved architecture. There is a beach only 20 minutes away by bus, horseback riding into the mountains, and excellent music and dancing at night (Casa de la Musica, Discoteca Ayala, etc..)

Santiago is a bustling town with many important sites. A little rough on the edges and bustling, worth a visit for a couple days but not much more.

Baracoa is a very charming and quiet coastal town. It's small size and tranquil nature makes it a good place to relax.

Vinales is a little village in the mountains out west. A definite must see for the unique geography alone, where you will find Karst mountains dotting the landscape.

Baracoa, on the eastern tip of Cuba. It is lively, small, and has a local history, with a beautiful beach setting surrounded by coastal mountains.
