Japan, Singapore then Western European countries. USA is waaaay down the list. People who wrote USA seriously need to get out more. If you people knew how far behind the rest of the world you are, you would be much more humble. |

If you are talking about Public Technology, Japan is # 1 but the United States (US) is usually the one who pays for that technology to be developed anyways, together with the European Union (EU).
But if you talk about the technology used for war, then the US is leading probably by a long way. In fact, most of that "public technology" was created for war originally, and then adapted for public usage. Still, Japan plays a big role on that, together with EU.
Note: some countries like China and India are also now in their way to become a global technology provider. |

All these answers are wrong. South Korea is the most technologically advanced. Check out BBC click programme home page. Find archive and select 2006. There you will find reports about South Korea that should convince you. |

Does anyone really think the city-state of Singapore is more technologically-advanced than the US? Language is almost always imprecise, so you can justify several answers (e.g. broadband internet is several times faster in tiny Singapore than continent-sized US), but look at the big picture: the US was the main player in the digital revolution, invented the laser, has done 80% of the work in space technology, etc etc. Up until the middle of the 20th century, the US excelled at applying theories and turning them into inventions; now it excels in the creation of scientific theories too: since 1950, Americans have won approximately half of the Nobel Prizes awarded in the sciences. |

It really depends upon the TYPE of technology that you are looking into. If you are interested in miniturised electronics then definately Japan. If your looking at more large scale technology then China (the damming of the Yellow River as an example). If you're examining military hardware then the European Union is the most advanced.
It is also important to remember to be historically contextual. Did you know that Australia was on the cutting edge of computer technology in the 1950's? Australia in fact rivaled their American competitors (and in some ways, bettered them.)
To answer your question literally, the most advanced WORLDWIDE country is currently the U.S. (watch this space, however). Within the next few decades their superiority will be eclipsed by China as China comes to occupy an even greater position in world affairs than it currently does. Both countries exist as worldwide countries due to the impact of their domestic policies upon world affairs. |

Depends what you mean by technology. Warfare and stuff like that it's the United States but if you mean things like gadgets then it's probably Japan. |
