Yes, I was there the first two weeks in December. It was my ninth visit to Cuba, my fourth at the same resort, Sol Melia Rio Luna y Mares, Holguin although the resort is actually at Guardalavaca an area about an hour from the airport. Obviously I really like the resort, good dining, a great beach, excellent staff, lots to do, much of which at no extra charge. or I wouldn't keep going back. Please take a look at the links. In particular check the reviews on trip advisor you'll find most people are very satisfied. |

A month ago , going to Cuba since 1990.
When you're interested in Havana , the Hotel Nacional is great , good service, nice seaview.
In Central Havana , Hotel Inglaterra , Hotel Parque Central and the top class Saratoga Hotel with a top roof swimming pool.

If you are going as couple, go to Sandals Royal Hicacos in Varadero. Been there several times, will go back again. Loved it. On the best stretch of beach (its right next to Iberostar Varadero as well, which is also fantastic if you aren't a couple) |

Hotel Tryp Cayo Coco is an amazing resort and it's on a beautiful beach. Mind you, all the beaches in Cuba are gorgeous, but this place is wonderful. The resort is beautiful and the service there is excellent with amazing people who work there.
They all make you feel very welcome there and at home. They be your friend and help you have an amazing time.
Any who attend to your needs will always keep a smile on your face and the Entertainment Team are a blast. There is s much to do...lots of day trips into the nearby town/city, beach/water sports, snorkelling, scuba diving, parasailing, pedalling, and many other fun activities.
The shows are amazing and the dancers and singers are one of the best (I've seen other places and this is by far the best)....and the entertainers will also have you laughing your heart out.
An awesome place.
See the link below for this place. |

If you're looking for Adults Only, definatly Paradisus Rio De Oro. I promise you will not be dissapointed! Best trip of my life!
If you are not interested in adults only, I highly recommend Hotel Playa Pesquero- outstanding food selection, pool the size of a small country, gorgeous beach... All around amazing!
Both are located in Holguin (beautiful place).
Hope this helps. BUT!!! whatever you do, take the time to swim with the dolphins! It is an unforgettable experience! Have fun in Cuba! |

You dont say where in cuba youre heading but
With No doubt the Iberostar Varadero
Stayed in the Iberostar Varadero from 7th till the 21st of Feb and it was fantastic!!! perfect in everyway!
The resort is in a lovely setting and is very well looked after, always clean and tidy. Staff are very friendly and helpful. 3 nice pools and a great swim up bar, the beach is also fantastic, very clean, the beach also has its own bar and snack bar!!!!!
The rooms are in blocks of 52 rooms situated not far from the main complex, we stayed in room 1451, The Rooms are failrly large with Kingsize bed, sofa, TV,mini fridge,Phone,Ironing board,A/C,kettle etc. The bathroom is a large bath with a shower/mixer head, sink and a seperate shower cubical. Your room is cleaned everyday in the morning, or later if you have a lay in, or even on request and I must say they do a good job, room was imaculate all week. and some very creative things done with the towels.
food in cuban resorts in normaly concidered quite basic compared to other Carribean resorts such as mexico etc. This wasn't the case in this Hotel the Food & the choice was fantastic, there is food served 23.5 Hours a day, you can even order room service!! The main buffet restraunt is exelent (plenty of seating, great service of drinks, massive food choice that changes every day)and the Cuban,Oriental,Med restratunts are also fantastic, the Oriental is a must try!!! Another thing that supprised me was the drinks, all international brands such as Malibu,Londons Gin etc are all available on request at no extra cost!!
Have a wonderful trip |

When I travel to Cuba I prefer to stay in Havana. More to do and if you are single then the nightlife is very nice (I hear it is also nice for couples but I don't have much info for that). I prefer to stay in a casa instead of a hotel. Try the Havana-Rental link at http://www.mycubafest.com and look at some of the properties. I prefer the Vedado area because I can walk to most of the places I like to visit. An easy walk to the sea wall (malecon) and the area around the Havana Libre Hotel (the old Havana Hilton) has activity at almost any hour. In your email to Havana-Rental be sure to tell them EXACTLY what you want in accomodations. They have be very helpful each time I have used them. LASTLY, Enjoy yourself. Havana is a beautiful city and relatively safe given the size of the city (about 2.5M residents) |
