wow that's a lot of stuff, i'll try to answer as much as I can.
money - USD
metro area includes- San Juan, Guaynabo, Bayamon, Trujillo alto, Carolina & Cata~o.
Transportation- AMA(metrobus), and the Tren urbano(both services are only for the metro area) . The "pisa y corre" are used mostly in bayamon, they are small buses that takes you to different parts of the city.
The clothing is mostly the same for all seasons, in 'winter' it gets a bit more colder but not enough to change the clothing. Usually shorts, t-shirts, sandals..
mayor hospitals:
Hospital Pavia
Centro Medico
Auxilio Mutuo
Food:
Rice & Beans (arroz con habichuelas), Bistec, Tostones, many things done with platain, yuca, red meat( hamburgers, burritos), chicken...coca cola, coffee!!
a flight to PR is arround $200-400 from the US.
Religion: it is mostly catholic, also there are MANY different christian churches.
People here are very consumerist, they SHOP SHOP SHOP and end up in very high debts with their credit cards.
One of the traditions is "la noche de San Juan"
which is in June, and people have to jump in the beach or pool at 12 midnight , 12 times.
Hope this helps!! |

Ok. The money is the same as America (dollars). The main religon is Catholic. The food they eat is traditional red beans and rice. You dont need a passport if you are going to Puerto Rico from the U.S. because it is a U.S. territory. Lodging is just like America. It has the hotel chains that America has. Visit applevactions.com and look at the Puerto Rico Hotels. Flight costs depend on when you visit and what airline you take an where you are coming from. Clothing you need is Shorts and T-Shirts all year long. Traditions can come around the Christmas time. Search about "Parandas". That is one tradition. You dont need shots or vaccines to come here. Puerto Rico is Just like the United States. So if they have it in the US then they have it in Puerto Rico. |

Tipical food here is rice and beans with fried meats. We do have american fastfood restaurants like Burger Kings and McDonald's etc. Passports are equired by law to travel to and from the Island, even though we are US territory. We use US dollar, no money exchange, tax is 7% . Religion is mostly Catholic. Due to the warm weather, we don't have different clothings for weather changes like in the states. You might require a light jacket or sweater between the months of November-February these are our coolest months with temp. ranging from high 70's during the day to lower 60's in the evenings. Transpotation is monorail, public cars, AMA buses, airplanes, and to the municipalities of vieques and culebras we use water ferries and small planes. You do not require any special vaccines, but you should have them up to date. No outbreaks on any diseases to worry about. Hospitals here have up to date medicines and treatment.
Try these websites they have much more information:
www.puertoricans.com
www.gotopuertorico.com
http://welcome.topuertorico.org/city/sanjuan.shtml
The last site listed is the one that I consider has the most information. But you decide, you can use all of them to get whatever information you need.
Good luck on your project. |
