I am disappointed that this movie, although popular does not
tell the audience the real Pirates of The Caribbean story.
The Pirates were real, many of them were born in the United Kingdom. The notorious Black Beard which I believe Johnny Depp is trying to portray was born in Bristol England. He was the Pirate most feared along the eastern coast of the United States.
They were ruthless men who plundered Merchant Ships
bound for the American Colonies, passing through the Caribbean.
Some of the Cari bean Pirates, written in our History and who have caused much death and destruction are:
Captain Henry Morgan, Captain Stede Bonnet, Captain Charles Vane, Calico Jack. etc. also Female Pirates, Anne Bonney, and Mary Read.
Because The Bahamas in The late 17th and early 18th Centuries had no Governance, the Pirates used the islands as a home base. At one time, there were more than 3000 Pirates living there.
Unfortunately, the producers of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, never researched this information, but were been able to captivated their audiences with a dark and dismal movie which frightens little children.
I know the Pirates story because I have researched it. |
