Favorite in Primary school:
Teacher Baboolal-----thanks to him l learn to spell well because every Friday he took us up in spelling with the promise to cut yuh tail in front the class if yuh get anything under 15 outta 20!! l never had to go to the front and l thank him for that motivation!!
Favorite in Junior Sec:
Ms Nunes...classy, calm, soft spoken woman.
Favorite in Senior Sec:
Mr Bajnauth.....geography teacher with a punk rock hairstyle, hitting on one of his students shamelessly. He was my fave because l didn't care for geography and he didn't care that l didn't care!!
Least favorite in Primary:
Don't have any
Junior sec:
Agri Science teacher(?)
Senior sec:
Mr Johnatty.....that man like he had ah pact with the devil to antagonize me. At least twice for the week he used to report me to the principal. Yuh name have to announce over the PA system for the whole school to hear, and he wearing ah big grin. When yuh go down in the Principal office, yuh had to sit and wait till he talk to this one and that one, sometimes he forget bout you, so I learn to stay in the corridor out of sight till I feel he forget bout me and go back to the class. Hear Johnatty, "what he tell yuh?" big smile on he face. Me: "he say to go back in class and behave mehself sir"!! Till next time!! |

The least favourite is my maths teacher in high school Mrs Lewin, She hated me, and refuse to mark my papers, I had to ask another maths teacher to mark them, I left high school with a pass in maths in G.C.E. and CXC no thanks to her. |

Favourite teacher - Standard 5 teacher at St. Catherine's Preparatory School (it was a Roman Catholic private school) - Mrs. Humes. She was a bit strict but she was fair. If a student complained about another student she would sit both of them down and ask for both sides of the story.
Least favourite teacher - Mrs. Maharaj. A first class bit©h. That woman made my life a living hell in Standard Four. To make matters worse, I get the feeling she was a racist. I was only 10 years old at the time but she made her racism pretty obvious to all of her students. If I ever meet her today I'll give she de sweetest cussin' of she life. Ah jus' waitin' fuh she ***. |

Seventh grade in Canada was Mr Sharpe. He was the school librarian and our homeroom was in the library which I LOVED since I have always been a ridiculous bookworm.
In Trinidad at Dunross Prepatory was Mrs Moore. Back in the day she used to bring out a band for kiddies and I played in her band that year (maybe standard 4?). I loved it and thought she was the bomb for doing something so cool!
At SJC my all time favourite was Mrs Reid, my history teacher. She had no patience for idiocy and she was scary when we were younger but by CXC time we thought she was hilarious. She would ask a question, someone would answer (eventually) and then she would roll her eyes, look to the sky and say exasperatedly "Lord, why did you give me these DOTISH children? What did I do to deserve them?" in all seriousness, then turn back to us and keep going. The thing was she wasn't trying to be funny...you just knew you had to bring your game with her. Damn I miss that woman! |
