Why are there no Target or Super Target in Puerto Rico?

Target Corporation has aggressive plans to have 2,000 stores open by the year 2010,[32] including expanding to Alaska and Hawaii.[33][34] I guess that icludes PR as well, part of US but not in the mainland.

Do not worry, as soon as Target sees the big numbers Walmart are doing, they will come to Puert Rico.

Some of the retailers in the US don't realize the benefits of opening stores in Puerto Rico, or they might be reticent to go through all of the local red tape (and believe me, it's almost like the government wants you to give up on the idea). However, when they do, they are surprised to find that PR stores do better than most of the ones they have in the US. That happened to Borders, CompUSA, and others. BestBuy is opening one store here soon, and I'm sure that Target would do extremely well here.

Unfortunately target is not as big as Wal-mart or other department stores. This is changing however, they plan on doubling the number of stores in the next few years and expand more over seas. So I would expect to see them in Puerto Rico, in not to long. I know for a fact they have plans for Italy.

because we have walmart and that's enough. If target and supertarget come here, it will completely demolish what is left of the original stores that operate soley on the people. why put something that would crush the little guy here? I say that if you want a target or supertarget, stay in the states. The people over here dont want it. That's the way it will stay for a while.

There's No Target but Maybe You can buy the Franchaise and Open the first one.

No Target no Big Lots, No Ikea, No Olive Gardens, No Red Lobster, No Krispy Kreme...No White Castles..

But we have Macy's, Sizzlers..Beaches 365 Great weather Days...

Probably because Puerto Rico is not part of the United States and I don't think they have them outside of the United States, but don't quote me on that.
