Why do most people prefer the Caribbean region to Hawaii?

Two reasons I can think of. Money and flight time. Many of the caribbean resorts are all-inclusive and only a max of 3 hours flight plus under $1000 for a week stay. Makes a very reasonable vacation. Ones I stayed at had nightly entertainment and activities during the day.

I prefer it because it seems to be a little cheaper, the water is warmer and there is a lot of diversity.

I don't, Hawaii is in the US and much safer than the Caribbean...

Don't have to worry about currency, language, government...

Belize is a great Caribbean place for vacation and retirement because it's cheaper.

Your dollar goes twice as far because you get 2 Belize dollars for every US dollar.

I went to Hawaii last year and I went to the "Big Island", it was not that great...I would go to Honolulu, or Maui next time, but I will go to the Caribbean in October so I can let you know the difference then. Sorry.

Id say price & the crowd. Price because it seems to be cheaper to get a vacation in the Caribbean (via direct flight or cruise) these days than to go to Hawaii. Plus Hawaii is a popular honeymoon spot so single-ready-to-mingle people would opt for the Caribbean because alot of singles go there first.

I can't imagine. Nothing is prettier than the South Pacific, or the Pacific in general. Atlantic just doesn't do it for me.

Maybe because it is cheaper, and it is easier to travel there.

the Caribbean is way more exiting than boring Hawaii

perception that it is cheaper due to lower real cost of goods. Also, because its outside of USA. also, because the probability of a tsunami is close to 0 for the caribbean. also, because wages are lower in these areas, therefore stuff becomes cheaper, though not necessarily flights. Also, diversity plays a huge role

It is cheaper, closer, beautiful and I don't have to fly there...I can get on a ship and cruise....plus there are so many places to visit and they are worth every penny! The Carribbean is very diverse and not quite as modernized 'overall' as Hawaii.
