I know why I visit the Caribbean as often as I can. The beautiful blue green water that we don't have in New York. The different cultures to learn about. Of course, the DUTY FREE purchases.
Liquor, jewerly and caribbean island products.Like pure vanilla in Mexico. And the warm weather they enjoy all year long. Winter on the east coast usually starts in Nov and can continue till April. That's a very long winter.
We do have natual beauty and we visit those places in the summer and fall on the east coast. |

Because most people don't see the beauty around themselves, until they go away for a while. The common, is often ignored. |

It has got to be the great weather and the warm ocean temperatures. |

I think that people who live in cities particularly enjoy the Caribbean for its relaxing atmosphere. They are excited at the thought of strolling up those lovely yellow sands, of being able to take their meals out of doors, of being able to relax their aching limbs in the limpid waters of the Caribbean or of the lovely pools in their garden settings -- in short, of taking it easy. Their main concern is to have a wonderful, relaxing stay and therefore they are not concerned with rushing around sightseeing or imbibing culture. A surprising number of visitors to the Caribbean islands simply stay put in resorts, never venturing outside. (I'd be much too curious to settle for that!) I think that visitors from the USA and Canada account for the majority of tourists to the Caribbean and their favourite times for visiting are the winter months, when it isn't too hot and when the danger of hurricanes is past. It must be utter bliss to arrive from a bleak, chilly country and then bask in the sun like an iguana, gradually finding one's energy and vitality. I believe that in the USA people don't have much leave entitlement, so they want it all to be perfect. And they find what they want: the sea with colours ranging from emerald to sapphire to opal; the golden sands which caress the feet; the coral reefs and colourful fish for those who like to snorkel; the magnificent sunrises and sunsets; the dramatic cloud formations -- and with it all, a happy atmosphere which soothes away stress.
And maybe one day later on when they tire of all this they will discover the delights which are on their own doorstep. Just as Caribbeans love to visit the countries which those tourists have travelled from and enjoy their attractions. What's that about the grass on the other side....? |

The caribbean has so much to offer including the unspoiled beauty. You should visit too and soon you won't be asking that question. |

I live in one of the most beautiful places in America. But I sure can use some sunshine and warmth in Winter. Its been below 10 degrees F for the last week. |

Everyone sees their environment everyday, so it no doubt gets boring. I mean, you probably see your home every single day, and does that not get tiring after a while? There's always something about seeing a new place, especially one that is extremely beautiful, that brings so much excitement into our hearts. Why we choose the Carribean specifically I can't answer, but it's probably something to do with the beaches. I know with me, I love the beach and would do everything in my power to visit it every day. |

I visit Barbados to get away from the cold, and I have a lot of friends there -- less worrying about accommodation. :) |
