First of all , please take me with you!!!

I think prices are going up so much this year, because BWIA closing it's doors. The best thing I would suggest is to start planning for carnival '08 right after carnival '07. You can find great flights etc about 8/07 or 9/07. (although I found some flights rather cheap from the US to TT rather late) by November/December you want to be done with ticket/ hotel guest house etc planning so you concentrate on outfits and your mas coordinates (shoes, glitter etc. LOL!)

Good luck and again, take me with you PLEEEAAAASSSEEEE!!!

You ain't no Trini if yuh askin' this,
Hotel ? pack up yuh stuff by family and yuh goin from fete to fete, if yuh feelin sleepy you aint doin' it right.
Car? Yuh mad ?
No room for cars on the streets during carnival, take d' bus because when yuh reach d' traffic yuh does want to get out and walk (trust me).
Jus get yuh ticket an' come, d' party startin' as soon as yuh come off d' plane.
and yeah, TT carnival is d' best.

You must have relatives or close friends or somenody you knew when you lived here. Get a chartered flight (these are always cheaper). Why are you renting a vehicle? There is harldy any parking space for vehicles during carnival. My advice will be to hire car until Carnival Sunday (just in case you have fetes to go to). Accommodation, it is expected to be high as it is the country's high season and you know, carnival is worth every penny spent. There are some little hotels in Woodbrook which are relatively cheap but not great either. It's ironic, cause you said you don't care how much your carnival costume cost but everything else is very expensive in your opinion - that's a big joke in addition, you'll have USD$ and it's worth about 6.50 or almost 7 TTD$, so what's your point!

It expensive because is de baddest!

You know the story about plane fare..get a cheap charter and humble yourself for 6 hours in a cramp up plane.

For daily expenses, I find Trinidad very cheap compared to the US. When I went last February, I stayed mostly by my dad and the other nights I was liming with family. Yuh must be able to find an auntie who will want to feed you some oil down or curry goat. For transport, I relied on taxi and friends giving me rides or I just use meh two foot and walk.

De fete tickets were kinda pricey...but I went to an all-inclusive so at least dey feed me. Costumes...Monday nite mas cheap, or just grease up yourself for Jouvert!
