Simple. fidel began to nationalize ( sort of what Chavez is doing now in Venezuela ) all private properties without indemnification.
The USA didn't like that and declared the embargo
You know, dear AA, fidel later said that he was comunist and that he would be for ever ( one of the rare cases when he told the truth )
At the beginning he said that he would celebrate free elections in 18 months
It has been 50 years and we are still waiting. I suppose you will say that he has not had elections due to the pressure from the USA ( perhaps later he thought that somebody else, not appropriated to rule the country may be elected and that he was the only one that could rule Cuba the right way ) that he established a bloody dictatorship also due to the pressure from the USA and that he imposes a terrible repression on the people for the same reason |

There are. Shortly after seizing power fidel nationalized ALL private property, including that of the USA, without indemnification
Bad for business. Today, some people scream to eliminate the embargo, but I understand that besides other aspects, fidel and the brother could buy on credit. fidel does not have reputation of being good payer. Those ones that wish to do business with them, do it at their own risk. They have a totally wrong idea of what fidel is
By the way, it is a rule that all comunist rulers always say that the yanks have tried to kill them. If that were true, then the yanks are a bunch of incompetents, if we were to believe fidel ( a chronic liar )
Oh, the Monroe doctrine. Right
If that were the case, the USA would have eliminated fidel from power 50 years ago. That would have been the obvious conclusion from the Monroe doctrine |

Not only that he took over the property of U.S. companies in Cuba he encouraged the rest of the Caribbean and Latin America to do the same...
Do you know what would happen to the U.S. companies if all countries clamped down on U.S. overseas investments? |

The revolution triumphed in '59. If you look at pictures of teh revolutionary army they have armerican weapons bought in teh US. Nowhere do you see any Kalashnikovs. Cuba and teh US had a fairly amicable relationship for the next 2 years. " interesting things happened during this time.
a) th eUS embassy wanted to increase its staff to 200. this was stopped by Fidel Castro who suspecte them of being spies and political agitators.
b) Castro nationalised US interests in Cuba as they were paying awful wages to Cuba and had MASSIVE tax concessions that had them contributing nothing back to teh cuban economy.
Withthedeteriation of relationships, teh Soviet Union stepped in to bank roll cuba. It was only then Castro declared the 'socialist nature' of teh revolution. I.e. he wasnt a communist to start with but 3 years into his rule the constant pressure from teh USA and the overtures of freindship and trade with the USSR saw him nail his colours to the Communits mast. The USA at that time was so hostile to any regime that ousted its friends , it labelled them all as communist. This was led by a paroniod repressed homosexual called Hoover who was head of teh CIA |

Do you people know anything about anything.. Before you ask any MORE stupid questions and embarrass yourself even more... GOOGLE for MONROE DOCTRINE and maybe you can understand why a COMMUNIST REGIME in the Caribbean WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE. |

First off, he defeated the US-backed Bautista. He nationalized the phone company and other US companies, and gave nationalized land to peasants; the US owned the companies and the land.
So the US was already pretty ticked at him by the time of the Cuban missile crisis (having tried to have him killed on several occasions). |
