because some countries will hit you for a tax upon leaving the country and they will do so in the airport if they will do this. It is always good to have money in case this happens or in case of plane delays and you suddenly have a need to purchase food.
I went to Jamaica ages ago and they did this tax. I did not know about it until we were about to board the plane and they got us all for 50 dollars. I was lucky to have had money on me to pay it |

if your package deal doesnt include it, places like DR require $10 a person to get in, and $20 a person on the way out. just another way to get money. |

They are very picky about what you bring on the airplain, but you can still buy magazines, and bring on foods. You also will want a little cash in case your plain is delayed and you want to grab a bit to eat, or get something to drink. Money isn't real important at the airport and you can get buy with out. But better safe then sorry. |

I think all the airport shops take credit/debit cards these days, so I'd say you wouldn't need any money. I always feel better if I have some, though! |

If you are arriving, money for tipping; if you are departing, there is a departure tax of $20.00 US; also it is handy to have in case of emergencies such as: luggage being over the weight allowance, tipping, and to buy drinks or snacks if you are stopped over for a non-direct flight. |

Departure tax if not included in the ticket. While waiting for your plane, there are duty-free shopping. Also places where you can eat/drink. |

If you want to buy things most countries now use currency....some still use livestock but that is sure a pain to haul through the airport! |

You should bring some just in case, you may get delayed or something. Also airlines do not allow you to bring liquids anymore, so youmight want to buy a drink & even a meal b/c you rarely get served on flights unless it is very long- international or first class. Just be safe bring atleast $20. |
