Looks like Hanna is heading for the Bahamas. Keep an eye on this site and you will know exactly where it's going. I wish I had better news for you.

On the weather report just a few minutes ago, they said that it will most likely keep heading west/northwest and so it looks as if it may actually end up around South or North Carolina. It is really far away right now though, so who knows. We are watching it closely as well because we are going on a cruise Sept. 4-7 and hope it doesn't get in our way! |

i'm living and working in the bahamas for 6 months and i would definately say DO NOT ruin your holidays. I worked for an english tour operator and make sure that all of our guests are ok with every aspect of their holidays. One of my jobs is to ensure all of our guests are safe, know what to do and aware of it all we currently have guests in all our hotels which are breezes, riu, atlantis and sandals and all of these hotels have set procedures in place. IF and it is a big IF hanna is going to hit chances are little to nothing that in nassau/new providence we wont really be affected as we are a tiny island surrounded by andros and eleuthera 2 larger islands and lots of little cays and reefs which protect us!! they are NOT evacuating people, they are not cancelling bookings in fact everyone in the bahamas is getting ready to have hurricane parties should she hit!! the weather is glorious the last 3 weeks we have had little outbursts of rain throughout due to the tropical storms and hurricanes going on all aournd us! don't panic knowone is in the bahamas the chances are so slim but even if it does turn out to be a hurricane and hit us again, we are very protected in nassau!!! |

It's not looking good but luckily you have a little more time to figure it out. We are supposed to head there Saturday departing at noon but it looks like we will be canceling our trip. We called and spoke with a manager at the Atlantis and asked him what he would recommend for us to do (we actually asked if this was your sister what would you recommend). He quickly told us he would have her cancel the trip. So, Saturday morning will be spent trying to figure out a new last-minute destination. Perhaps Hawaii.
Oh, I also looked into the weather forecast for the Bahamas and it's all thunderstorms for the next week.

Take a look at the projected path on www.weather.com. It looks like it may end up hitting parts of the Bahamas towards the later part of next week. I wouldn't worry yet but I would check the weather to get an update in a few days before you leave. Then it should be clear if it's headed close or not. |

I leave on Sunday Aug 31st to sept 7 and im going. Im not letting that TS wreck my vacation. Right now it looks like it will say fare south of Nassau. Go and have a good time and maybe I will see you out there as im staying at Breezes. |

it is not a hurricane yet but its going to intensify within the next two days meteorologist are saying that hanna will probably go to the bahamas and then to south florida were i live |

and yes it may hit the bahamas then.. but its to soon to tel... half the models are saying its going to make a loop and turn a whole differnt direction. i live in central florida and i have seen alot of hurrincaes and im only 14. so if the storm does come i would highly reconmed you amking plans to evactue immedalty if your there when it hits |
