No, this is a US territory. I just got back last month. Traveled from San Diego and do not have a passport. Make sure you do the Bio Bay tour in Vieques, it's awesome! Spend at least one night there you will enjoy it. |

In your previous ? you mentioned an I-94. Therefore I am assuming you are not a US citizen or permanent resident. In that case I would have your passport as you will need some form of government issued ID to board the planes even though you are not leaving the USA |

As long as you are a US citizen you do not need a passport to go to Puerto Rico. You do need a valid ID (like a driver's liscence).

If you are a US citizen you dont need a passport, check your air ticket and you find that the category of your ticket said domestic. Puerto Rico is a U.S Territory, all the people who born in here are U.S citizen. The only ID you need is a drivers license if you having plans of rent a car or use a credit card (in all the places your plan to buy with one they ask you for a photo ID) In the other hand, if you are not a U.S citizen be sure to carry your passport, or you are going to experiment a very big trouble with the U.S Custom |

If you are a US citizen you don't need your passport for a flight to Puerto Rico. It's a territory of the US. You do need a valid photo ID and your birth certificate.
