If you're coming from the U.S. mainland (or from Hawaii and Alaska) and you're a U.S. citizen, then no, you won't need a passport to travel between America and the U.S. Virgin Islands -- like Guam and Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands are U.S. territory, and so even though they're far away, you're not considered to have left U.S. territory when you visit them. All you'll need is your proof of identity (a valid driver's license will do.)

Do remember, however -- perhaps for future vacations -- that the rules recently changed for U.S. citizens traveling between the states and Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Bermuda, and Central and South America; as of January 23 2007, you DO need your passport to enter and exit if you're traveling by air.

Have a wonderful trip!

If you are a united citizen travelling into the us virgin islands from a us country then you dont need a passport. However if you are a us citizen and you are travelling into the us virgin islands from a non us country then you will have to show a passport as proof of citizenship

Max
I dont' think so unless, you are not an American citizen.

If you are a US citizen no passport needed. You do need a valid photo ID and your birth certificate. US Virgin islands are territories of the USA.

have a fun trip

Not if you are a US citizen and have a picture ID.
