You are clearly afraid of the risk of hurricanes. There is always that risk at that time of year, but you will be well cared for if it happens and many hurricanes are really no more than tropical storms, soon over and soon forgotten. But against that risk, weigh the advantage of going in the off season and saving money. Not to mention avoiding the crowds! Enjoy your trip! |

I've been there throughout various times of the year and never experienced anything drastic. I know that Sept falls into hurricane season, but I've been there in Sept/ Oct and it was sunny, warm. I think it was cloudy maybe 1 day out of the two weeks I was there. Its been my experience that hurricanes dont really hit that hard there. I think the worst experience I had there was an earthquake...it wasn't anything serious...but living in Jersey where its unheard of, it was a new experience...not bad at all....enjoy...I'll be going for Christmas and New Years this year and hope to have a great time (and I always do) |

im going in 2 weeks and i have heard lots of horror stories, but also some good ones, the weather is unsettled ie one min so hot next it rains hard for 2 hours, then sun all day, but hey thats the weather and if your english its got to be better than london, remember one thing, people tend to remember the negative points more than the good times, it will be what ever you make it |

Great time to go if you like hurricanes, loads of on off showers backed up by another hurricane, save your money, go in late November to early may, or try a greek island (they don't get too many hurricanes there this time of the year. True story for you. Person I know went for a holiday to Cancun (mexico) in September two years ago. first 2 days bit of cloud bit of rain, no real problem. 4th day edge of the hurrican hit, smashed the hotel, he watched his 9 year old son carried off by the tidal surge, ( he was eventually dragged to safety by a hotel waiter). next 4 days spent tidying up before they came home, he with a nervous breakdown, and unable to work for a couple of months, his wife and kids blaming him for taking them to the Caribbean during the hurricane season. PS the hurrican then shot upto Texas and New Orleans, the rest is history. |

Yes it will be more than ok it will be great lots of sun and relaxing time, I went last year and had the time of my life i didn't want to leave i stayed in the iberostair 5* hotel it was like being in Paradise so enjoy your time away, OH but helpful hint, Have your shots before you go, don't really go out to much they will have all you need in your hotel and lots of shops on the beach and you can go to, ALSO I WARN you DO NOT go deep sea fishing a group of 20 of us went and everyone was sea sick you don't actually fish you just circle on a boat |
