I think multi-racial. You have several different heritages that define you, and you should be proud of that! When people ask you, say "Oh, a little but of everything, and then say what you are! That's awesome you have such a unique hertiage! |

Multicultural or just a person, you are who you are you do not need a label.. I have not read anywhere that you are of any African American decent so you really cannot call yourself African American |

It doesn't appear that any of your ancestors were from Africa so why would you call yourself African-American? Why don't you just call your self American? |

Why would you call yourself simply African American. You arent simply African American. You are multiracial. Be loud and proud. Youre a mixty baby. Me too. :) |

Multiracial works.
African American sounds like somebody who can't decide whether to be African or American, and doesn't want to say black. |

I would say multiracial. Native American, Caucasian, Latina, and African American are all different races. Be proud of who you are! ^_^ |

Why call yourself anything other than an American? Yes, you have a multiracial background, but you don't need to qualify yourself. My husband is of American Indian and Black heritage. He has dark skin, but doesn't like to be referred to as 'African American' - if anything , he prefers Black American if he has to qualify it. He's just an American. |

Obama isn't even considered multiracial...he's just considered well...black. That's it.
Not coming from me, just from his many supporters. |

My dear, if you were born in the USA you are an American. However, you do come from multiracial descendants. You are not African American. None of the descendants you mentioned come from Africa.
You sound beautiful. Enjoy being a mystery woman.

I think simply calling yourself American will suffice.
I think we all should embrace all of what we are. This is what I love about my country, there's every ethnicity here, and we're all American. If people ask, tell them you're Brown. Lots of Brown in your ancestry.
edit: I'm Polish, Lithuanian, German, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, and French... but people don't care. I'm just caucasian to everyone. |

Why not just consider yourself American and leave it at that? Your culture is American! Ya know I'm part sweedish, italian, german and english, why would I try and associate myself with one culture, I'm American born just like you, so that's our culture American! I think you are lucky to have the Native American blood in you and you sound beautiful, so just tell people the truth that you're American! |

Definitly multi-racial. I am Vietnamese and Slavik my husband is Ethiopian, Native American and Cuban. My kids are definitly multi-racial and gorgeous.
Funny thing though when we were registering our daughter for school they asked her ethinicity. They had the normal selections of caucasian, african american, pacific islander, asian, hispanic but no multi-racial or other. The lady doing the registration said in the eyes of the state she is whatever her father is. So we told them what her father is, they then asked what his father is and we told them ethiopian and cuban and so on and so on and finally the lady said well she is african american. |

So many american have a mix of everything. It is funny that in Mass, Conn. Rhode Island area when someone asks where you are from they will go into the nationalities but as you get farther away from that area the same question is answered with a city and state because everyone really began mixing it all up. African Americans call themselves that because their ancestors are from Africa not because of the color of their skin. You really need to just be comfortable with who you are though You are dark skinned because of your mix and I bet you are just beautiful. Just say American. True Americans should not have to differentiate anyway. My mix is German, Italian, Indian, and some Irish but if asked...I am an American and very proud of it. |

I would definitely classify you as multiracial. There's nothing wrong with that though. (Don't forget Best Answer :] ) |

Wherever you born you are identified as from there. Just tell them with a smile that you are a proud American with many different roots too numerous mention and leave it there. Tell them also that you are unique that is why your skin and hair is that colour.
Do not bother about others think, they are entitled to their opinion. |
