Good question. I would not go to Jamaica or Amsterdam to live, but I'd certainly go to both on holiday. If I'm in the mood for a vacation in a big city steeped in culture and history, Amsterdam's my choice but, if I need to use my time-off as a release valve, then I'm going to leave all my worries at home, check-in to an all-inclusive resort, bathe under the Jamaican sun, listening to the waves crashing on the sand and the steel drum band behind me at pool-side, and drinking any rum-filled concoction that passes my way. |

Never been to Amersterdam, but I have been to Jamaica. Jamaica has all the appeals of Amersterdam but it's a tropical region! Who can resist wonderful weather on such a beautiful island!! JAMAICA all the way! |

Why would you travel to either place? If you are seeking beautiful beaches, green, tropical vegetation, and warm, friendly people, give Jamaica a whirl.
If you are interested in history and a more orderly society, Amsterdam is the choice.
But keep in mind that Amsterdam is a sight more expensive! |
