You may want to consider flight time to the destination. Some islands take a couple of stops before getting to the final destination. Some islands require water transfers because the island's air strip is not large enough for commercial flights. If coming from the USA, some destinations could take 6-9 hours to get to. This might be a consideration, especially if traveling with small children.

Is there a language difference? Some islands like the Dominican tend to speak mostly Spanich. Learning a little of the language helps, especially if the resort caters to non-US tourists.

Are you renting a car? Keep in mind that some islands drive on the left rather than the right and do have the steering wheel on the right as well.

Will your phone card work at any particular resort? If you are not carrying an international cellphone, you might consider taking a phone card. You might want to check with the hotel or resort before you depart to see if they accept the particular phone card that you have. I have found that some resorts contract with certain providers and not all phone cards will work at all resorts.

If you are on a family vacation, keep in mind that some Caribbean islands do allow topless sunbathing, especially if it is more of a heavily European visited island or resort. Some familes have appeared at resorts with their young children or teens and have gotten shocked by the sudden nudity on the beach or pool at their resort.

I normally would like to know the exchange rate, reasonable hotels, the good places to shop, to eat and the cost of the taxi fares.

I would want to know the plane fare, accomadation cost, food cost, taxi fare cost, activites cost..soo many things. =)

you will need US$, it is accepted everywhere, but the Eastern Caribbean we use Eastern Caribbean Dollars (EC$).

You will need cotton clothes, u can wear sleeveless short sleeve, short pants. A light coat for the evening walks on the pier.

An not forgetting you would need an empty stomach because we will gets lots to eat.
