Well, I am sure the world is glad to see that a 17 year old is mature and knows how to drink in moderation. IT IS ILLEGAL TO DRINK AT 17!!! You could be in serious trouble if you are caught drinking at age 17. If your parents allow this, they could be in more serious trouble.
No, at age 17, you will not get served alcohol on a cruise ship. What cruise line is all-inclusive to include alcohol? The only one I know of is SilverSea and that is super-expensive.
You will get your keycard issued to you that is a different color than those of 21 year old people. You will have to show your keycard for a drink and you will not get served. |

NO, they will ask for ID to card you to see if you're old enough. When you're cruising foreign countries, sometimes the drinking age is 18, but since you're still 17, they will not let you. It doesn't matter if you're 3 mo. away from 18, if they serve you alcohol, they will lose their liquor license, and no cruiseship will want to take that risk. |

Most of the cruiselines are not inclusive when it comes to alcohol. You need to present your card which adds up all your purchases for the cruise and bills your chosen credit card. Your age is also encoded onto your sail and sign card. We saw a young man plop down his ID and ask for a drink as it was his 21st birthday. The bartender turned him down as your age is determined on the first day of the cruise. There were several of his friends standing behind him who were equally depressed. They thought that their friend would be able to buy them all drinks. |

You cannot drink legally in the US until you are 21 so you've still got a few years to go before you can drink!
As far as the restrictions go, I would think that they would follow the rules to the letter since they will lose their liquor license if even serve 1 drink to someone underage.
Happy cruising! |

American Cruise ships the age is 21, no negotiations. On non-american ships (those that do not dock in America) it is up to the captain. |

They just changed the age from 18 to 21 on Caribbean cruises last July (I know bc they changed it 5 days before a cruise that I took to celebrate my 18th birthday...bummer) but if you have someone older with you to get the drinks, they don't really check. |

On Royal Carribbean cruises if you are 18 your parent can sign a waiver letting you have wine and beer. Its always cheaper to pack the alcohol in your suitcase anyway. I do it everytime, just make sure you use it all on the cruise and dont bring it back through customs. |

depends on the cruise and where you go. There is no legal age on ship, but most lines set their policy at 21. |

It doesn't matter how mature you think you are because if you're underage, they won't serve you. It's that simple.
The good news is that depending on the island you visit the drinking age is as low as 16 so you can act all mature and get trashed there. |
